this is such an apple music/itunes/physical sales coded chart update lmao

15 of the top 40 songs are on ACR (16 if you include prada) which is 37.5% of the entire top 40. these are making the chart boring and lifeless
there should be a rule in place where a song on ACR can still stay in the top 40 after it is on acr but for only 3 weeks OR there can only be 3 songs at a time in the top 40 an ACR, so example Taste, Die With a Smile and Good Luck Babe would still be in those spots while all the other ACR'ed songs are forced out of the top 40.
these rules will keep the chart fresh and modern

Prada isn't on ACR, and because of how stable it already was before coming off there's a chance it'll still be top 40 this time next year.
ACR is a very flawed system but if you were to remove these songs from the chart quicker, it would be a very inaccurate chart that didn't represent what people would listen to. The charts are not necessarily meant to be fresh, they're meant to be a representation of what people are listening to during a specific time period.
And if these songs were to be chucked out the t40 after 3 weeks, there'd just be this massive clog of songs between the positions 41 and 50 that are on ACR which would look awkward imo.
The biggest issue I have with ACR is how ever since they changed it for Running Up That Hill, everyone and their nan is coming off ACR for any little reason. Not to mention the fact songs like Mr Brightside and Riptide are just popular while on ACR, so will basically forever remain top 100 besides a few weeks in December. Which is ironic when ACR is meant to keep these songs from doing so well.
Billboard's recurrency rule works so much better, we wouldn't have songs like Dreams or Mr Brightside still clogging up the chart and especially the year end lists, and songs (mostly) wouldn't be around for too long. They have a stale top 20 due to radio inclusion, we don't have that.
Tbch there's no easy way to fix ACR, nor is there a way to keep the chart fresh without completely rewriting how it is compiled and making it less accurate.

if we had this, the chart wouldn't accurately reflect the songs of the time at all, we'd have so many songs peaking way higher than their popularity deserved. i totally agree with the billboard recurrent rule mentioned though, i think we should use that instead of acr because the only reason the hot 100 is stale is because they count radio, we don't so it'd work well for this chart

Good to see 'Last Night's Mascara' in the Top 50. Hope it can remain stable or even gain before the final chart! 😊
