BIRDS OF A FEATHER
by BILLIE EILISH
Birds Of A Feather, released 17 May 2024, features as track four on Billie Eilish's UK Number 1 album Hit Me Hard And Soft.
Written by Billie and brother/producer Finneas O'Connell, the breezy neo-new-wave jam borrows its title from the English proverb "birds of a feather flock together". Vulnerably singing about falling in love with a person that she wants to "stick together" with, Billie begs the lover to never end their relationship.
In an interview with Apple Music, Billie also described the vocal challenge of the song as containing the highest "belt" of her career material so far.
Despite not releasing any singles prior to the album release, Billie previewed a snippet of Birds Of A Feather in the trailer for season three of Netflix’s teen rom-com Heartstopper. “I’ll love you till the day I die,” Eilish croons in the audio.
Birds Of A Feather entered the Official Singles Chart at Number 9 in its week of release, before climbing into the Top 5 at Number 5 a week later.
In April 2025, Official Charts announced that Birds Of A Feather was one of the UK's biggest songs of 2025 so far.
