On the spotify top 50 global daily (the most streamed tracks of the day) there's a song called "not like cheddar" at 21 and the cover is of john pork, a internet meme.


What the heck.. is this a hack or has the world gone mad?

Hey, I would like to bring up a topic which some may be deemed as un-needed, I myself don't know if it is and I did my research on this but couldn't find the answer. If I am wrong then please don't attack me I am just curious, no harm meant to Dua Lipa because I am a fan. And I googled multiple searches about this before I made this comment.

In her song physical she's talking about the honeymoon stage of a relationship and a lustful relationship of s*x (according to wiki and sources.) In the song she says the line "Baby, keep on dancing like you ain't got a choice"  if someone doesn't have a choice in a lustful relationship (which Dua is saying to someone) isn't that R@pe? I dont think the song is talking about dancing because right before it the song mentions going lights out and multiple s*x references. I'm asking because I don't want to listen to a song about such disgusting things, I only noticed the strange lyric when I was walking home and listening.

Thanks to Alan Jones' sales figures I calculated Alex's figures on Spotify streams for the week at 0.005p together with the downloads at £23,007.12p
But it wouldn't be the top on Retail sales. For Alok and Kylie Minogue sold £65,540.34p. This does not include the streams, which didn't register on Spotify's 200 chart.

With sales of 1,467 copies on CD and 2,907 on vinyl, Last Night I Dreamt I Fell In Love debuts atop the physical sales chart with an overall tally of 4,374 units for Brazilian DJ Alok and Kylie Minogue. It is also No.1 on the individual CD, 7-inch vinyl and overall vinyl charts. The track didn’t fare so well digitally, attracting just 66 downloads

Honestly I’m just as surprised as you that I like Azizam so much. I’ve never been that big of a fan of Ed but it really worked for me. Good news for you, it’s really underperforming streaming wise anyway haha (though physicals ship on monday). And yeah! I’m not usually this active with album reviews but I had a lot of free time this week and wanted to go through Katy B’s discography so I did exactly that

Is it just me or has the quality of the charts really dropped off as of late?

Disappointed that Linkin Park’s latest single didn’t make the Top 40 but they’ve had a very successful comeback. Between that and Sleep Token making their breakthrough, this is proving to be a strong period for rock music in the charts. I’ll take that as a positive at least.

Disturbed may also return to the region with the way things are going. Shame that ‘The Sound Of Silence’ is likely only here because of that horrific Cyril remix.

Last week, there were 37 charting songs on ACR.

This proves that, while 2024 was a strong year for music, ACR is ineffective in getting rid of older hits. It ultimately dumps them into the lower reaches of the chart to linger for weeks, months, or in some cases, even years.

Tbf, if people are streaming the older songs a lot they really deserve to be here, tbf I do hear that we need fresher tracks so I do see it from that perspective

Dire Straits being one place away from the Top 40 with their debut single from 1978 is not something I was anticipating to see on the chart today. 

Does anyone know why it's seeing such a big resurgence?

Sam Fender has recently covered it as his gigs. Not so long ago a charity single was created which included the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow & Jeff Buck amongst others. Think it’s come of the back of that. Think we are going to see a lot more of this happening. Very few new songs are getting a chance now due to ACR also.

The three Ariana debuts are okay. It’s a shame that ‘Warm’ isn’t here as that was easily my favourite of the deluxe edition tracks. I certainly wasn’t expecting the intro to be one of the three tracks that charted today.

Speaking of her latest album, I’m still annoyed at the UK for never letting ‘Supernatural’ chart. One of the best songs she’s released this decade.
