Can @maciedeclines please post her top 10, the last few weeks it's actually become better than the real top 100 and geniuely I'm interested! 

Is it just me who is really not excited about this Oasis reunion? 😩 Firstly, Liam’s track Just Another Rainbow is easily one of my bottom 5 songs of the year and secondly it leads to the return of their worst song: Wonderwall. They’re legends but we’ve had enough old songs resurge this year (although I would love to see Symphony have a major resurgence - surely not that far off charting again!!) 

Honestly one of the most exciting weeks I’ve seen in a long while! Really hoping Good Luck, Babe! can go #1 though it deserves it so much

I feel so bad for Chappell and the way people are treating her :( First the setting boundaries which people have been trolling her about ever since and now the show cancelling (which yes, was pretty sh*tty doing it that close to the show but it was a huge opportunity for her career and I don’t blame her for it at all!!) she’s so insanely talented too she doesn’t deserve any of this

The amount of success Sabrina has had this year needs to be studied she has fully ascended to main pop girl status

• if i continue to talk about sabrina carpenter here, i’ll get cancelled. i don’t even hate her, i just think she’s meh
• doesn’t help im already triple cancelled for being greater-mancunian-born and not caring for oasis. if it makes you better, i like little by little, half the world away, married with children and stop crying your heart out. might as well coin the latter title to all the oasis dads cancelling me. i always preferred radiohead anyway.
• i’m glad fontaines d.c. had a bit of impact! they were never gonna get the number 1 album for releasing the same week as that carpenter lass, but im happy for them anyway. they deserve the popularity
• i never stated my opinions on die with a smile due to the gig i was at last week, so ill say it now. gaga and bruno have incredible chemistry. i have my suspicions this is for the joker movie considering the title, but im not sure. it’s still great, joker-based or not.
• christ on a stick, little simz featured on a coldplay song and she STILL can’t get a top 40 hit. guess she’s not appreciated enough in the mainstream. although the song isn’t coldplay-like, i’m glad it grew on me a lot in time for the release! i initially wasn’t a fan when i heard it on coldplay’s glasto set, but i’ve changed my mind. the message is beautiful, i love the different cultures brought together, simz is once again bringing great bars to the table and elyanna’s vocals are incredible. i can see why day-one coldplay fans hate this, but i dig it. certainly dig it more than feelslikeimfallinginlove tbh
• it’s sad to not see magdalena bay anywhere, because they released a d4mn great album. definitely check it out if you love good pop music.
• i can’t get on board with carry you home. i feel like ive heard it all before.

I can't be bothered doing a review this week. I got roped into an 8 hour trip to the middle of Chester and back just to hang out with a family I wish I didn't have any relations to. But if you were wondering what I feel about the charts right now, Sabrina is the queen of music right now, there's literally not a crumb of a new entry in the Top 40 right now (apart from Sabrina, obvs), mrstarling is experiencing a mental breakdown, and it turns out that getting a band from Manchester back together to tour again after who knows how long can do funny things to the chart. I was hoping that New Order got some more respect from the public, but there you go. Also Sabrina's denied Fontaines D.C. a 2nd No.1 album which I should've expected the minute the release dates were announced, but I'm still angered. At least they've got some minor hits here to gawk over. Anyways, here's the newbies:

Sabrina Carpenter - Taste [1] (Eh. It's in the middle of the Sabrina-sandwich in my eyes. You don't become the first woman to lock up the medal spots without making good music.)

Coldplay (+ Little Simz and Burna Boy but they're not credited) - WE PRAY [44] (Flop. That's all. Why try and do Viva La Vida again? It wasn't that good in the first place.)

Fontaines D.C. - In The Modern World [52] (Brill. But not as brill as their other hits at 57 and 69. Still though, whoopee for guitar music. You are the new 1975. Please don't mess this up.)

The late oasis arrivals is shocking! BUT DA*N I REALLY DIDINT WANT CARPENTER TO DO THE TOP 3 😭 oh I beg we didint have to have this cr*p return honestly. Thus top 10 is horrible.. atleast "BACKBONE" fell off

‘I Don’t Wanna Wait’ being struck by ACR is a very pleasant sight. Also glad that I don’t have to include ‘Nights Like This’ in my rankings this week either.

Regarding the Oasis resurgence, I kind of wanted to see ‘Champagne Supernova’ here so it could chart alongside ‘Red Wine Supernova’ lol.

I saw some hype about the Fontaines DC album on here so decided to check out the tracks they charted with today, and I’m generally impressed!

Some of the studio recordings need to grow on me, but I really hear this group’s appeal and these songs would absolutely go off live, especially ‘Starbuster’. No wonder they were booked for so many events over the summer! If you’re into alternative-indie acts, they definitely get my recommendation. :)

Looks like ‘Birds Of The Sky’ is gone from the chart altogether. Definitely won’t be missed by me for sure.

Shame that ‘Set My Heart On Fire’ and ‘She’s Gone, Dance On’ left with it though. At least the former had a brief spell in the Top 40 but the latter was incredibly underrated… 😔

Sabrina’s album was okay, but it’s kind of a shame that the timing of its released effectively denied Chappell the #1 today.

Anyway, I still enjoy ‘Espresso’ even if it’s getting a little tiring, ‘Taste’ is fine and it was always going to be the next single, but ‘Please Please Please’ is unfortunately souring on me with every listen.

She and her team absolutely need to push ‘Juno’ in the coming weeks though. Probably one of the best songs she’s ever done!
