This is my personal tierlist of some tracks in the top 40.

S TIER

I Love You, I'm Sorry - Gracie Abrams (38). This song is emotional and beautiful, and I'm pretty sad that Gracie's breakthrough came from That's So True (3) and not this masterpiece. She's definitely my favourite artist that's in the chart at the moment, and if Close To You charted then it would be even above this one. Gracie's music is just so peaceful.

Good Luck, Babe! - Chappell Roan (21). I'm disappointed that she didn't manage to hit number one when Sabrina Carpenter was dominating last year, because her melodic talent is so impressive. I think the lyrics are pretty clever too. A well-deserved S Tier.

Beautiful Things - Benson Boone (40). A really good emotional ballad that I think should stay in the chart for longer. Slow It Down was fairly good when it charted but this one has to be even better.

A TIER

Sailor Song - Gigi Perez (5). A catchy, well-made country-pop song that I think should have got more than one week at number one but I'm glad about what came after it.

That's So True - Gracie Abrams (3). Gracie needed a breakthrough so badly, and this was a fairly good song to do it. I would have preferred it to be I Love You, I'm Sorry (38) but I'm more than happy with her good run at number one.

Pink Pony Club - Chappell Roan (22). Not quite at Good Luck, Babe! (21) level but still a great start to her career.

Birds of a Feather - Billie Eilish (20). A powerful song that I think should have reached number one.

B TIER

APT. - Rose and Bruno Mars (2). IT'S SO CATCHY! I don't think it's as good melodically as some others but still a great song if you need an energy boost. It needs to make it to number one soon.

PUSH 2 START - Tyla (25). A funny one more than anything. Pretty decent.

Taste - Sabrina Carpenter (31). The most tolerable of Sabrina's work. I don't think much of the music video though.

C TIER
[Every other song I haven't mentioned is in here.]

F TIER

Like Him - Tyler the Creator (34). Just not my style of music, I think it's really hard to listen to. This one just isn't it for me - there's nothing terrible about it.

Dirty Cash - Pawsa (17). Another really weird one I don't like at all. I can see why some like it though.

U TIER

Bad Chem - Sabrina Carpenter (15). No. Just no. I won't listen to this.

it's been said in here but i'm also sooo happy to see british talent back at #1! such a drought recently, only 2 #1s by uk artists last year, and now the first new #1 of 2025 is by an incredible british breakout artist, hope she sets the tone for the rest of the year. i'm yet to check out lola young's other stuff but 'messy' and 'like him' impress me more with each listen.

I think Central Cee & Dave will debut #1 ngl (I won’t be complaining, that collab was very good)

M

I wasn't a fan but I don't think it sounded good for radio imo, I think it'll have trouble getting shipped to radio.

avatar

macie

1

I’m still so annoyed with That’s So True as a song. On one hand, I ADORE the bridge and I think she sounds good on it but she just sounds dreadful for the rest of the song and it makes me unable to stand it 😩

M

1

Tell me about it! I can't even stand one song by her.

I like I Love You, I’m Sorry but that’s about it

What the h*ll is the new Bruno mars collab.. I was not expecting him and Sexyy Red to sing about what they did 😳

H

I don’t even find Bruno Mars bad as an artist but he really messed up here.

M

Definitely, my jaw dropped when I saw the collab!

He should stick to Lady gaga

i really enjoyed it 😭 i love sexyy red and i think bruno showing versatility in his feature run is great

M

Sexyy  getting taken to radio is the last thing I Want.

I thinking making a whole music career about s*xual stuff is really weird, she literally does NOTHING else.

New music Friday was really good this week, and I actually really enjoyed the new Teddy Swims album so I hope to see him have some more breakthroughs next week :)

M

Cant lie, Teddy kinda missed on the new album.

Dk how to feel about Messy being at number 1, but glad to see British talent taking the number 1 spot again.

I first listened to Lola on ArrDee’s mixtape Pier Pressure so my impressions on her were very different, but i don’t hate it. Congrats 👏

Not often there are many songs I’ve been playing that chart, however, to see Bad Bunny reaching his highest peak in the UK to date is awesome! DeBÍ TiRAR MàS FOToS is a superb album, just bop after bop! Hope he climbs further over the next few weeks! Will really get you into the summer mood when it finally comes! Even if ‘DTMF’ isn’t among my favourite tracks from the new Bad Bunny album, well done to him on getting his first solo Top 40 hit. It’s not often you see songs entirely in a different language do this well on these shores, so this is a huge win for the Latin community!

I would say I’m relieved that ‘Stick Season’ left the region today, but knowing its chart run, who knows if it'll end up coming back?

Fantastic to see ‘Denial Is A River’ still moving up the chart! I love the creative storytelling a lot and it reminds of the old-school hip-hop classics.
