i've been quite poorly since Monday of this week so  Christmas was positively bleak for me (though i'm aware others suffer way more and regularly).

Similar to last week, i've filtered out my 10 most recently played at random tracks. this time they all contain the word 'HAPPY' - which i wish for all of you from now and beyond : )

I think it's noteworthy to mention that only 1 Christmas record is falling this week (do correct me if i'm wrong) - that being 'Freezing this Christmas' by Sir Starmer and the granny freezers.

1: Happy                                                                            PHARRELL WILLIAMS

Absolutely ecstatic to see Underneath The Tree back in the top 10 at a new peak! I’m thrilled it was able to hit the top 10 this year, the fact it did 1.9M streams on Spotify on Christmas is crazy!!

So the chart of the year was counted down on Radio 1 earlier today! What did you all think of it for those of you who listened in?

My personal highlights of the year were ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ getting a resurgence right at the beginning of the year, Hozier surprising us all with a #1 hit, the “Brat Summer” phenomenon and especially the mainstream breakthrough for Chappell Roan!

M

mrstarling

I can't pick a highlight... there's so many

avatar

macie

my highlights were Prada, Disconnect, greedy & Escapism. all getting a 2nd year end each (with Becky continuing her streak of having a song on the year end every year since 2019!) and also the comeback for Valerie!!

when’s the end of year chart available

It's being counted down on Radio 1 right now, but I expect OCC will publish it within the next week or two.

The UK end of year is sorted out more than Billboard.

Just like last year, only three non-festive songs survived the holiday takeover this year. It’s a bit of a shame that Greg Lake’s ‘I Believe In Father Christmas’ never returned to the chart during the holidays.

That being said, it’s cool that ‘Sleigh Ride’ reached a new peak for The Ronettes. I’m also delighted that Darlene Love’s ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’ and Cher’s ‘DJ Play A Christmas Song’ got at least a week in the Top 40! 😊

Since this is the last chart of the year, I want to thank you all for 2024 and wish everybody the very best for 2025. Hope the next 12 months are everything you want them to be! ❤️
