Official Trending Chart: Tom Grennan, Laufey and Lola Young dominate!

As Christmas creeps closer, some new songs are still breaking through as we near year end.

Tom Grennan has secured the UK's Number 1 Trending Song for the second week in a row.

Amazon Music Original It Can't Be Christmas made its UK Top 40 debut last week, and it set to reach a new peak come Friday.

Following on from Sam Ryder's success last year, we would definitely keep an eye on Tom as the time approaches for the biggest chart race of the year - Official Christmas Number 1!

Another Amazon Music Original, from Icelandic-Chinese jazz musician Laufey is slowly creeping up the chart. Christmas Magic also made its UK Top 40 debut last week, becoming Laufey's second Official Chart hit, and it's set to rise even further this week.

Joining these two is the rare occaision of a non-Christmas song breaking through at year end. Lola Young, who has been pegged for one for watch for at least the last three years, has finally earned a breakthrough hit in the UK. Messy became her first single to enter the UK Top 40 last Friday and is now on track to rise even further. Messy - which combines complex lyricism with a bursting alt-pop production, will certainly be one song to hang around the Christmas period, and who knows how far it could fly come the New Year...
