The Canadian rapper holds onto pole position keeping Rudimental's These Days featuring Jess Glynne, Macklemore and Dan Caplen as runner-up for a fifth week. The last track to spend five weeks at Number 2 was Ed Sheeran's Galway Girl, which got stuck behind his own chart topper Shape Of You in early 2017.

Rudimental are always going to suffer because by being top seller for the last 5 weeks means not as many people need to stream it whereas Drake is streamed a lot more due to not "selling" as much. It would be good if there was a fairer way to combine the two.

You are so right. Streaming can be manipulated, just like in the old days when companies paid cash to radio to play their songs. Streaming needs to be reigned in somehow. It's a joke that a song can top the charts sibling, when it truly is no longer the most popular song in the nation.

It's a fair point but people would just skip the song in streaming playlists if they didn't like it. Plus, people are probably streaming Drake's song more because he has been smart and put a number of breaks in the audio in his music video on YouTube- which is how a lot of people listen to music but isn't counted in the chart.

Psycho dropped off significantly
Drake's UK stream went lower to 3% compared to last week. But that's enough to earn him #1 for the next 4 weeks again from

You really need to rethink the streaming equivalent to sales, because having drake at number one for every week every time he realises a song is annoying. Don’t just change the streaks per sale from 150 streams to 1 sales and make that higher because it will make it even harder for good new bands to get recognition. Think of something new and that is fair for everyone.
This would allow better music to enter the charts and give record labels the opportunity to try new ideas instead of makeing gutless music with a so called cool drop.
Thanks

So? Almost no young people I know actually download and pay for singles now, and the streaming better represents what they're listening to. And if you're implying Rudimental are a new band, they're not. Been around for quite a few years now and I much prefer their older songs to their new ones.

True, I also only stream music. And the bands I would like to see do better are alternative and indie rock bands, for example Catfish And The Bottlemen and Blossoms. And bands like them.

Streaming is the most manipulated method of tallying popularity right now. It really doesn't represent what they are listening to the most.

I'm glad Say Something is keeping inside the Top 10!

Not surprised to see Drake still at #1 & looks like it was a quiet week for the Top 10 too.
Further down the chart, I like the big gains for: 'The Middle', 'Paradise' & 'Lullaby', as well as 'Meant To Be' continuing to gain traction! :)

Are Drake's digital sales lower than last week? It seems like they are much lower yet he remained #1. Streaming must carry significant weight on the Official Charts...

Yeah, streaming does carry more significance on the Official Charts than the Hot 100.
Regarding 'God's Plan', I don't know if it lost much on digital sales, but it did drop 6-8 in that chart.
I hope you've had a good weekend Marco! :)
