I agree with the earlier comment that Best of albums should have their own chart. When I was young ( a long time ago), an album could take months to get to number one. All the sales are now in the first week with all the different formats. Everyone gets a No.1 now.and most are not worthy of it.
ImaPlank
For 70 years the charts have included 'Best of' albums, to exclude them now would would be a shame and would invalidate all past album chart statistics.
I agree with you that now all sales are in the first week for most new albums thus giving a new no.1 every week (pretty much) which was never the case back in 80's/90s. It makes me laugh when an album goes in at no,1 then totally disappears from the chart altogether the following week. Even so, for that one week, they outstreamed/outsold everyone else even if they did disappear afterward.

Lars Van Moer
Most of the time, these number one albums which "totally disappear from the chart altogether the following week" are still in the actual sales chart for some weeks, possibily even in the top 10.

El Foz
21 albums over 5 years old.
35 compilation albums.
OC needs to separate these things, as well as in the singles chart. Have a Best of Chart for the best of albums clogging up the albums chart, any album or single over 2 years should be retired to a legacy chart like the do in Australia. This stagnation has killed the charts in this country. Same for the genre charts, look at the rock singles chart, not a single current song, songs on there for 1000+ weeks. Please do something about this.

It's not the age or type of album that has killed the charts, it's streaming. Until the OCC has a chart solely for sales, and a separate one for streaming, the charts are meaningless.
StarBurst
You're (all) missing the point: this bunch of coin-flippers that call themselves The OCC are nothing more than that... complete numbties at best.
This week, an album that is actually a new entry, is shown as "Last Week #117"
(Clue to your incompetence: IT'S A NEW RELEASE & 1st WEEK ON CHART!)
These 455holes have no idea how to compile a chart. It's not the charts that are meaningless, it the tw4ts compiling them.
ImaPlank
I agree with you. Everyone is still comparing streaming with that of pure sales.

So much for "Madonna's album will be out of the charts in week 2 or 3". .

Out of the Top 10 after only two weeks is hardly the comeback of the decade. And in the US, it was only one week in the Top 10.
TIC
The Immaculate Conception
Of course the bitter and deluded Kylie loon (Ruffjam, ect) has moved the goal posts, back peddled and now suddenly cares about the US. It's hilarious how we've gone from "Madonna's album will be out of the UK charts in it's second week" to "it's out of the top 10 after three weeks". lol Plus, she only dropped to #12 in the US, so it's hardly out of the billboard 200 like you were hoping.
and I don't think anyone ever said it would be "the comeback of the decade". However, it's the biggest comeback for Madonna in 20 years. Not only did she go to number one all around the world, but she's getting rave reviews from critics.
Just for comparison, Kylie's Tension fell to #36 and #83 on it's third and fourth week in the UK. Tension II was an even bigger embarrassment since it fell from 1 to 52 and then off the UK chart completely in her main market. lol
Is it worth even mentioning the US? Well, only for a laugh maybe.
The first Tension album completely fell off the main U.S. Billboard 200 chart after debuting at number 21. Tension II debuted at the dizzying heights of 98 and fell off completely, and you're mocking Madonna for falling to 12 in the US on her second week?
Purleease!
