I go on strike quit listening again all due to the fiddling of the same old at Number 1-20 and I look at it this week on the written version and it's shifting a little not enough for my liking though they are still Top 20 past a 16 week Robin Hood boredom time limit on Top 20s though they need to stop the 16+ weeks in Top 20 and constant reentries of the same last years records over the new alternatives just to come out for the same artist on the Friday or whenever for me to be happy about it again.
It's the new music chart it shouldn't have out of date tracks on it unless it's an oldie on a 2024 official re-release not official same re-lease 1 year later fakes.
In their place some of the Heritage artists tracks from the Physical Sales should be in it. They are legitly 2024 tracks by the old artists more suitable to the modern chart than an oldie that isn't a 2024 remaster even.
When it gets issued in a film a digital single or singles pack normally comes out alongside it those are fine to re-enter as they are in fact new remasters not even the re-entry anyway but count as a new entry from 2024 as an old record but the new music from those artists should get priority over re-entries of any type.
As it Was and Mr Brightside and the likes shouldn't even be allowed to go sub 100 or sub 40 or even sub 200 again unless thee is a release on any of the services saying 2024 release on it.
That's why I quit it again until the guys up top put their rules right in favour of 2024 releases of remastered real legit reissue only oldies, 2024 new mixes, 2024 heritage tracks from physical and the best new music from modern artists without the re-entries by them stopping any chance of the most up to date track being on it.Â
For example George Michael - Careless Whisper is fare gain for re-entire as it came out on Halloween day again in an official 2024 copy but My Brightside hasn't so it should be totally banned from re-entry for a good year.

I have a good feeling that "Bed Chem" will hit number one eventually and I don't want "Gangnam Style" to be the only number one hit by a Korean act in this country forever.
S
Starling
Why? Bed chem is staying low near 10
mateushonrado
No, it's currently at number 7. What you're going on about? And I said "eventually", not "right now".
S
Starling
I know you said eventually and 7 is near 10
mateushonrado
Still doesn't rule the possibility of topping the charts before or after Christmas.
itsnoodleszn_
okay, the holiday tracks are flocking in batches now. i do like getting in the festive spirit, but im really bored of 90% of the christmas hits. then again, iâm 20 and my tastes are evolving so đ€·ââïžÂ
i found out about a my chemical romance cover of all i want for christmas is you earlier this year though, so thatâs going on repeat! and of course iâll be plugging christmas caller by beach bunny like i do every year because it doesnât get enough support
S
Starling
Christmas is the best time of the year... who doesent feel jolly then? đ
macie
honestly really glad labour was able to re-enter this week, I would love to see it back in the top 40 next week as a big f*ck you to the horrors america is going to face over the next 4 years.Â
itsnoodleszn_
i love that song
macie
same!! the cacophony version that she released earlier this year is also great
Piran
Sadly, it isn't just America that's going to suffer, it's the whole world. That being said, I'm also glad that 'Labour' is back in the chart today.Â

KAMALA SHOULD OF WON!!! TRUMP FOR JAILÂ

this website is borderline unusable now. i canât even look through this website without a pop up ad! this website is starting to turn into those dodgy mp3 download sites we all used to use! except this website contributes nothing to those mix cds we used to create. sort the pop up ads out occ!
itsnoodleszn_
two thumbs up to the cure for running away with the number 1 album - i knew it would happen considering their legacy and this recordâs acclaim, but very few comeback albums after so long are this good. slowdive and depeche mode are other acts who are in that exclusive club, but for now, well done to the cure and iâm so happy to have them back đ€
itsnoodleszn_
see, this is why i donât like being perceived as a chart follower.
at the start of the year, i was loving gracie abramsâ debut album, and was rooting for her to be bigger in the charts. i got my wish, and sheâs now number 1 with her worst song to date.
if you donât mind me, iâll be in my lil corner streaming fault line. that shouldâve been the hit.
macie
yeah I hate Thatâs So True as well đ©đ© why couldnât it have been ILYIS
macie
well. Gracie did it đ© I wouldnât mind if it was I Love You, Iâm Sorry (which Iâd honestly consider good) but Thatâs So True is easily her worst song to date imo, her vocals sound atrocious on it
macie
Sailor Song also really grew on me over the week đ
S
Starling
I'm not a Gracie fan either
itsnoodleszn_
hereâs a dozen songs iâve been listening to this past week:
macie
that fall for Somedays.. ouch đ

I felt that to...

now that the Christmas classics are returning, I can officially start my campaign to get Underneath The Tree into the top 10 this year!!Â
strangeways_here_we_come
It is quite a good song tbf and it's very nostalgic
sakgra
Underrated xmas song deserves a better chart position

Do you like any new music at all? Or is it all the classics. Also nice to see your top 20 againÂ
strangeways_here_we_come
Predominantly music from the 60s-00s lol. New music not much. Not all the current artists. The only new music I like really is when a band I like release a new album eg The Ballad Of Darren by Blur in 2023
S
Starling
Nice! I respect that
itsnoodleszn_
iâm still yet to listen to that blur album, heard it was pretty great though
strangeways_here_we_come
It's quite good. Far better than Think Tank in 2003 (haven't listened to magic whip). Damon albarn's voice has matured quite a lot too.Â

Chart Review 08/11/24
Screw Elon Musk and everything he stands for.
Sorry, I know I shouldn't be plugging my political opinions in anybody's faces after the past couple weeks, and whatever farcicalities were going on in the Album Chart comment sections should also be wavered away as an argument no one needed to initiate, but it's kinda difficult to keep quiet after the USA elected Donald Trump for another 4 years of wacky hijinks. Not that I have anything against the most famous tan-man in the world, but it feels a bit suspect that a guy with a humorous mugshot is leading America to try and fix their problems or whatever. Either way, the moral of the story here? Never hire any famous musicians to carry your campaigns. Because now people are gonna look at BRAT (Collins word of the year by the way) in a bad light after Kamala Harris completely shafted it.
Obviously, the British chart hasn't been affected by this at all, but you really wish it did because THERE'S NOTHING NEW AGAIN. Apart from the No.1 slot, because Gigi Perez has the defensive capabilities of that Armenian team Chelsea played against last night, as she trades her chart-topping slot with everybody's favourite female singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams. Everbody's favourite. đ Ignore the fact that all of her hits seem to be a DIY spreadsheet of musical copyright (Close To You is reminiscent of Julia Michaels, I Love You, I'm Sorry sounds like Taylor Swift, us. actaully has Taylor Swift), and with That's So True casually giving her a No.1 single for the first time, you can totally appreciate just how easy it is to do bits in the charts these days. Just tour with someone famous and you're set for life.
Apart from that though there's little to talk about, the 2 new entries being the latest Weeknd song to creep out of the speakers and bore me to tears, Sao Paulo having Brazilian superstar Anitta to vaguely spice up the action (either that or the video put me off my drink), and one of the Tyler, The Creator album tracks being replaced by another one that doesn't sound as amazing. Good for Lola Young that she gets to terrorise the chart for the first time, but did Like Him really have to replace my personal favourite off CHROMAKOPIA? And over on the album chart it's a glorious day for supporters of The Cure as their first album since Comet was on the high street powers past all opposition to make the music scene as gloomy and brooding as ever. Even if I prefer Friday I'm In Love to anything off Songs Of A Lost World.
AMAZING TIER:
Charli XCX [24], Linkin Park [28], Chappell Roan [5], Shaboozey [25]
GREAT TIER:
Chappell Roan [17], Sabrina Carpenter [19], Adam Port/Stryv/Nice To See This Back In The Top 10 [10]
GOOD TIER:
Billie Eilish [18], Tate McRae [34], Sabrina Carpenter [9], Tyler, The Creator [27], Tyler, The Creator [16], Sonny Fodera/Jazzy/D.O.D. [30]
OK TIER:
Billie Eilish [11], Charli XCX (+ Ariana Grande) [32], ROSĂ & Bruno Mars [3], Tyler, The Creator ft. Lola Young [33] (Shame Noid dropped out for this, but I like it well enough I guess.), Gracie Abrams [1], Teddy Swims [8], Addison Rae [13], Sabrina Carpenter [7]
EH TIER:
Gigi Perez [2], Gracie Abrams [4], Noah Kahan [40], Lady Gaga [12], KSI ft. Trippie Redd [6], Ndotz [39], One Direction [20], Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars [14], Teddy Swims [15]
DISLIKE TIER:
Myles Smith [29], The Weeknd/Anitta [22], One Direction [36], The Kid LAROI [35], The Weeknd/Playboi Carti [21]
BAD TIER:
Hozier [37], BL3SS/CamrinWatsin/bbyclose [38] (The follow-up dropped today. Give them that 1-hit status with immediate effect.), cassö/RAYE/D-Block Europe [31]
AWFUL TIER:
Benson Boone [23], Teddy Swims [26] (These two have spent a combined total of 87 weeks in the UK Top 40. No wonder humanity is in a state right now.)
NEW ONES (and other things)
The Weeknd/Anitta - Sao Paulo [22] (Slightly better than Timeless, but why The Weeknd resorted to reducing his appearance in the music video to people's bellies is anyone's guess.)
Tyler, The Creator ft. Lola Young - Like Him [27] (It's alright. Probably wouldn't stand a chance on a TTC Greatest Hits compilation but what can you do, eh?)
Chappell Roan - Casual [47] (Pink Pony Club's on ACR, so this fellow ballad takes it's spot. And yeah, it's OK. Start making new music please.)
Paris Paloma - Labour [62] (Mid-table hit from last year, but back in the charts because politics is funny like that sometimes.)
Central Cee - One By One [69] (So when is this guy gonna start making GOOD rap songs again? Asking for a friend of mine who hates Central Cee.)
Shawn Mendes - Heart Of Gold [81] (I swear this guy's career has been in toilet since at least 2022. Bandwagon-jumping with this acoustic number isn't gonna change his fortunes I'm afraid.)
D-Block Europe ft. 9Goody - Won't Ever Know [85] (See Central Cee for more info.)
The Adventures of Stevie. V - Dirty Cash [100] (Taken from the same soundtrack as Milli Vanilli and Crowded House. It's also the only reason Sonny Fodera's in a career with what it sounds like.)
Bye. Mariah and Wham! have also re-entered at 58 and 61. More on them next week.
S
Starling
Agreed with the trump opinion, he's a filthy gross person.
S
Starling
Off topic but Shame to see Kamala lose.
Piran
Iâve been following Anitta for a few years now so itâs cool to see her finally in the UK charts thanks to a feature on the new single by The Weeknd. Not among her best songs but itâs decent and I could definitely see it growing on me, even if the music video is kind of disgusting.
âLike Himâ is a decent entry for Tyler, although Iâm rather surprised about âNoidâ dropping out.
As for the returns, seeing âStick Seasonâ here yet again is becoming incredibly tiresomeâŠ

Tyler made a decent album!!

Last Christmas is a dirge, will never understand it's popularity.
S
Starling
I'm doing whammageddon this year! Jack Saunders better not mess up the radio again, who's with me?
Piran
Itâs kind of a shame that âMantraâ is quickly falling down the chart.
I love âAPTâ and Iâm glad that itâs sticking around, but I think this might be one of the best songs Iâve ever heard by a K-Pop artist!
Piran
I like âAll I Want For Christmas Is Youâ and 'Last Christmas', donât get me wrong, but I think the second week of November is way too early for Christmas classics to be re-entering the chart.
I personally start listening to festive songs from the start of December.
S
Starling
Agreed Piran, what's your favourite Christmas song?
Piran
Probably 'Underneath The Tree'.Â
S
Starling
TASTE!! I love that song
Shoogle
Halloween is the first day of Christmas, it's never too early to listen to the good ones!

CHRISTMAS ON HALLOWEEN?? WHAAAAT!! đĄ

agreed shoogle !!

I can recommend Annie Lennox version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, even better when you have the video to watch it to.
strangeways_here_we_come
Not mentioned but mine is Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade lol
S
Starling
Yeah Slade is decent I don't blame you for that opinion
itsnoodleszn_
i have a playlist called âchristmas songs that arenât gonna make me lose my sh*t this yearâ. thereâs a few hits here and there, but mostly deeper cuts.Â
thereâs an elliott smith song in there called âangel in the snowâ, and even though it has nothing to do with christmas iâll give it the power of love treatment because itâs more wintery than that song anyway imo
itsnoodleszn_
oh yeah, hereâs the playlist:Â https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7ay80N3EAFfKgVzuN0k7su?si=6bnUkUbjRJ-e9eef6DEMeg&pi=e-6k8bjAOWT3CW

I love the playlist name haha.Â
strangeways_here_we_come
Never knew blink-182 made a christmas song
Piran
Finally, âThe Doorâ entered the Top 10 and âBad Dreamsâ took a considerable jump as well. :)Â
Speaking of the Top 10, I hope âWildflowerâ can make it into the region in the coming weeks.
Piran
Glad to see âHot To Go!â with a new peak again and breaking into the Top 5 for the first time.
Further down, I absolutely love the breakthrough for âCasualâ. Another highlight from Chappellâs debut album and proof that she can ace ballads as well as upbeat pop. Would love to see this become another hit for her! đ
S
Starling
I honestly learnt the hot to go dance and it's very fun
Piran
Same but I prefer the 'Yoyo' dance haha.Â
S
Starling
I googled and I can't find that dance anywhere đ
I kinda liked the apple dance trend to.. the song wasant for me but the dance was creativeÂ
Piran
That's because it's one of the new Piri & Tommy tracks that were released yesterday.Â
S

I might listen to there music, only because you like it a lot. I'm curiousÂ
