No way Kanye west just posted to free Diddy.

Yall go look at his rants online recently, the amount of discrimination is crazzzzy.

Although it's probably for attention.

Gaga debuting at 6 with only 4 days of tracking is crazy! Hoping it will rise next week (the numbers look like it will). So great to see all the people who said she can't get a solo hit anymore eat their words

M

She's got a lot of solo hits already.

Looks like we’re getting a massive ACR clearout next week, and that’s going to open the doors for Pink Pony Club!! It’s currently top 10 on both apple and Spotify

M

You know what..

I'm actually starting to like Pink Pony Club.. yes, I may of hated on Chappell, but this is a dark confession.

On Monday I may have been dancing to this in the kitchen.

I kinda like how Raye is bringing religion into a lot of music.. we didn't need Doja on this though.

Would like to see more music released from artists that were around in the 80s that are still big today, eg Kylie Minogue, she got a top 10 with padam padam or something I think. It's a shame some of them died so long ago, i reckon michael jackson would still be getting top 40s if he was still around

M

Is there any new music that you are into? Just curious, not judging, I like old music to.

avatar

strangeways_here_we_come

2

The "newest" would be like 2000s stuff, eg Franz Ferdinand, The Libertines, Kasabian etc, and artists from the 80s and 90s who still release music eg Morrissey, Duran Duran, Tears For Fears etc. There are exceptions, Promises by Calvin Harris and Sam Smith i like, Sam Fender and Fontaines are alright, Wunderhorse the same, but that's it mostly lol

M

mrstarling

2

I respect that, Franz has had some great songs and Calvin and Sam.

The debuts were fairly mixed for me this week. I like ‘Abracadabra’ a lot and I didn’t mind ‘Cry For Me’ but I was rather underwhelmed by ‘Raving In The Studio’. Oh well, at least ‘I’m The Problem’ missed out in the end.

As for the big 2024 hits that are coming back… ‘Not Like Us’, ‘Guess’ and ‘Taste’ are all fine but the rebound for ‘Beautiful Things’ really wasn’t needed.

Curious to see how well Kendrick will do next week after his Super Bowl performance this weekend. :)

Morgan Wallen needs to lock in!! We need better music from him

avatar

Piran

1

Agreed. 'Love Somebody' wasn't bad at all but this is definitely a step in the wrong direction.

M

mrstarling

1

'Love Somebody' was great but everything feels like it's going downhill now, I know he can do good but not consistently.

avatar

Piran

3

I’m kind of mixed on The Weeknd’s album impact.

On one hand, I really do not like ‘Timeless’ returning to the Top 10 as the song has shrunk on me massively. On the other hand, ‘São Paulo’ is a lot better than I remember it so good to see it back in the chart.

Overall, looking back at his projects under this moniker, ‘Starboy’ is still by far my favourite era of his.

M

mrstarling

2

The album had some hits imo

What were your favourite tracks from it?

3

Excited to see how Lisa, Doja and RAYE will perform in next week’s chart. ‘Born Again’ is definitely among the best collabs of the year so far for me! ❤️

M

mrstarling

1

Kinda shocked to see Doja and Raye on a song mentioned praying to jesus.. if y'know y'know

avatar

Piran

3

The Grammys made more of an impact here than I was expecting them to.

It’s a shame that Billie didn’t win anything but so happy that Chappell and Doechii got their first ever awards.

Speaking of which, I love that ‘Pink Pony Club’ and ‘Denial Is A River’ got a late boost because of it, but my personal highlight of the week is easily the debut for ‘Nissan Altima’! 😊

M

mrstarling

2

Hopefully Doechii can go top ten!

avatar

Piran

1

I'd be surprised if 'Denial Is A River' doesn't make it into the Top 10 at some point.

It already feels like a Top 10 hit on cultural impact alone.

M

mrstarling

1

Her new song Nosebleeds is really good to!

avatar

Piran

5

The Top 5 is in serious need of a shake-up.

Other than ‘Who’ getting a dodgy streaming surge four weeks ago, we’ve literally had the same songs in the region since Christmas.

I’m surprised that ‘That’s So True’ and ‘Sailor Song’ have managed to avoid ACR for this long.

M

mrstarling

1

I agree that it needs a mix up
