AJ and big justice?!

Don't tell me the Grown man who says "Double chunk chocolate cookie" and AJ (A child who ranks Costco foods) are bubbling under.

Hopefully there songs don't bring the boom to the charts 💀

This is the only openly brainrot song to ever chart but like I don't think of it that way - I think of it in the way that "Still Bringin' It" is genuinely really good.

M

There's a lot of songs that I really liked that are kind of brain rotting..  anyway that's another story 💀🫣

Here’s hoping IT Girl makes the charts next week, JADE deserves all the success

I saw the music video for that song and now I'm seriously wondering if it's a character or not..

I like Who but it is so fraudulent it’s utterly ridiculous. The song should’ve died out quicker than Like Crazy

M

1

It's like crazy we have the same opinion! Who is even listening to it?

(I'm fully aware this comment wasn't funny but was still dying to say this.)

Hi post for the week

I`m quite sad Messy didn`t get to no. 1 in the charts today its a really good song by a British artist.

Songs worth listening to for the week

Messy Lola Young

Nice to Meet You Myles Smith

The Door Teddy Swims

Dirty Cash Pawsa (I liked the original version of this too- why was late 80s/early 90s dance music so good?)

A Bar Song Shaboozey

Too Sweet Hozier

I just wish there was more new music in our charts regularly, there`s a lot of good music out there not getting a well deserved chart position due to repetitive radio airplay.

M

mrstarling

Great list! Great opinion!

What's up with the 'who' rise up

Sadly, I like some BTS songs but the fans are OTT, even when it comes to solo members 😅

Aren't all of his fans bots at this point?

You might recognise head over heels because that was another standout hit from them. I don't know though but I was practically raised with it because it's one of my moms favourite songs

'Yoyo' still being here is crazzzzzy (its a decent track though don't get me wrong)

Surprisingly, this is only its seventh week in the Top 10.

M

And it's still bouncing up the chart like a Yoyo!

avatar

strangeways_here_we_come

2

The charts are so stagnant at the minute

M

mrstarling

3

In the US there even more stagnant

avatar

strangeways_here_we_come

3

I've heard... that bar song was #1 for an absurd amount of weeks

M

mrstarling

4

Yep, there's a song with a stupid amount of weeks number one every year.

2024 - a bar song (19 weeks)

2023 - last night (16 weeks)

2022 - as it was (15 weeks)

It goes on, and the whole top ten is super stagnant to.

E

mrstarling>

Agreed, their charts are dominated by terrible country music, terrible rap music and boring pop songs

M

mrstarling

1

After the older decades Billboard lost respect, There rules keep songs in to long and there timing for year end dates isn't good at all. They need to change.

M

marysue2010

1

Yes I agree- all the good songs don`t get enough airplay. Radio stations need to expand the songs they play.

Fantastic to see ‘Push 2 Start’ still moving up the chart and ‘Pink Pony Club’ getting an ACR reset!

As for the new arrivals… ‘BMF’ is absolutely the highlight for me as I mentioned in a different comment, but I’m also happy that ‘Denial Is A River’ made its breakthrough. I think Doechii will have a successful year ahead and she reminds me a lot of Doja.

‘Who’ continues to have such an absurd chart run, but hey, at least ‘Thick Of It’ took a big drop.

Yes Everywhere and Dreams are always lingering in the low end of the charts lol. I like how they're legacy has lasted a long time because they've produced some very recognisable hits

M

mrstarling

2

They definitely have made some timeless classics! Glad to see them in your top 20

Seeing Beabadoobee among the debuts definitely brought a smile to my face! ‘The Perfect Pair’ came out in 2022, so I’m a little stunned to see it breaking through now but not about to complain about it one bit.

Apparently, she’s also gaining some traction on TikTok and another song of hers appeared on the Spotify update earlier in the week. I doubt this’ll turn into major mainstream success for her, but I hope I’m proven wrong about that because she truly deserves it. Amazing artist! ❤️

Queen bea is back!!

4

Imogen Heap landing a new career peak and nearing the Top 40 with a song from 2005 was certainly not among my predictions for how the year would start. Good for her though because I like ‘Headlock’ a lot!

avatar

Piran

5

Awesome to see ‘BMF’ taking a big jump from last week!

It may not be my favourite track from SZA’s deluxe album when ‘Saturn’ and ‘Kitchen’ are on it, but it’s a fantastic song nonetheless and I’d love to see it become a hit. :)

avatar

Piran

6

You really wouldn’t think ACR exists when you look at the Top 40 sometimes.

So many songs in the region have stuck around for far too long, but ‘Beautiful Things’, ‘Lose Control’ and ‘Stick Season’ need to make way in particular. I get them having Year-End boosts last week, but can we please not keep them lingering around for ages in 2025? They’ve had their time now.

Y

YoCheeeseTheDL

Stick Season has had wayyy too much time.

avatar

strangeways_here_we_come

1

It's not even that they're low too, they take up some high positions in the charts it's insane. Even a few years ago songs wouldn't last this long in the charts.

M

I love them all but I agree
