Something a little different but possibly worthy of a chart entry.

This week marks 40 years of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends first showing on TV and fans are currently attempting to get the 2008 song "Roll Call Rap" (by Chris Maiden) into the charts, so far it's already steamed up to No.5 on Amazons chart, this incidentally is far beyond your Baby Shark ear worm, take a listen and give it a shot.

Search for "Roll Call Rap" under the album "Meet the Steam Team" on all platforms.

i went to see good kid in leeds!

so for those unaware, good kid are a canadian indie-rock band whose most streamed songs include “no time to explain”, “mimi’s delivery service”, and a cover of “from the start” by laufey. they’ve brought their tour to the uk and in january i was lucky enough to nab tickets during the presale. after 8 months of eagerly waiting, the day finally arrived, and i took my stepdad with me because my friend and cousin were unavailable; he liked the sound of the band, comparing them to the kooks.

traffic held me up so i missed the first two songs of dutch criminal record’s setlist. but from then on it was a blast!! dcr were a lot of fun already, and the sound engineer got us to do the “hot to go!” dance after i went down to the floor area. then the show started and my serotonin levels were on the rise. good kid had so much charisma, the crowd were amazing, the gig was interactive as , etc. with a bar in the venue, i had to move back up to the balcony because it was hot down there and i needed a drink, but i still had a great view. and the wheel of chaos was incredible as per usual - i have a tiktok of this uploaded, you can hear some lads egging them to spin it before they had a chance to explain 😂

favourite night of the year? it might very well be, because the post-concert blues are hitting. but this is a band i would happily see again and again, they were fantastic and it was well worth the wait 💞

I hope one day we get unedited numbers of streams on tracks but if ACR/SCR has to stay we have the 0.5 divisions instead as the numerical way of slapping ACR/SCR onto the tracks so we have the mix of proper unedited scores and 0.5 ones for only ACR/SCR tracks for a fairer chart and we get the real number ones for a while before the ACR/SCR slap ons if the 0.5 becomes the applyment of the ACR/SCR and otherwise the full streams start getting added.

Baby Shark might need a bit of 5x 0.5 ACR/SCR for all the formats though as 18B on streams alone is unbeatable yet alone the other units it may score high on.

Yeah, not putting 0.5 on everything but using it only for the ACR/SCR value for their chart product can give us more the legit result in this combined charts arena.

I'm pro making the Official Charts actually Official agian and changing the 0.5 to being only an ACR/SCR number who can complain about that if it gives us the real number ones and takes them away from us after a weeks limit by changing it to 0.5 divisions in that mode but leaving the rest of the tracks unfiltered units.

It will surely bring change to Top 10s which are not actually getting the numbers in real time 520K streams getting Number One which is ridiculous and unofficial with sales and downloads added that doesn't stop their stream from being low and not our real number one on combined units figures.

YouTube AI combined counts is exposing them at the Kantar Official Charts Company of fixing the results by doing this 05 division on every track but changing 0.5 divisions for a unit of the ACR/SCR I wouldn't mind that because everything else will be unaltered and it would be a way of knocking abusers of over 1 re-entries per year and Top 10 abusers down.

25 weeks Top 10 with only about 5 weeks not Top 10 is taking the mickey on Chappell Roan 16 weeks Robin Hood rules is the max amount of time I can stand the tracks being in the Top 40 in a run at all these modern days where many new tracks are getting released but they are allowing the same old turkeys to dominate.

I can't wait for Top of the Pops K-OCC division should be fun seeing the net 200 already lot of 17B fallers this week and I haven't added the fortnight of new entries pool yet only counted the previous 200 I had one track in there 3 times opps guess it was really a 197 the last time round.

I shall see if any of them have climbed my one or if the oldies, rock and novelty still reign supreme this week buy I guess tomorrow after I got the Update new entries stats but Most of it is probably new music fridays and for this week added that as feeling not well so it's done already if it ends up being the same entries on the update. lol

Chart Review 27/09/24

Except it isn't. Because I just cannot be bothered. I'll just get my thoughts in on who did what as quickly as possible and run as far away from the backlash I'll inevitably get for not really liking Lady Gaga's new-ish album all that much. Victory on the albums for Blossoms a.k.a. Stockport's finest which, given 3 of their previous 4 have also reached the top spot, I shouldn't have expected any different really. Sabrina Carpenter is still untouchable it seems, Alex Warren being the highest new entry this week is NOT a good look, Jimin can get lost, The Weeknd is a flop, and Addison Rae is also new this week despite desperately attempting to not sound like Blue Jeans by Lana Del Rey. Honestly, I have no clue why everyone loves Diet Pepsi right now. I barely care about NORMAL Pepsi.

Anyways, BYE.

AMAZING TIER:

Charli XCX [16], Chappell Roan [2], Linkin Park [12], Oasis [36], Shaboozey [21], Chase & Status ft. Stormzy [6]

GREAT TIER:

Chappell Roan [7], The Weeknd [26] (Oops.), Sabrina Carpenter [3]

GOOD TIER:

Adam Port/Stryv/Go To ACR So I Can Stop Making This Joke [14], Sabrina Carpenter [1], Billie Eilish [18] (About time you released a music video for this.), Tate McRae [19], Chappell Roan [15], Charli XCX ft. Billie Eilish [10]

OK TIER:

Sabrina Carpenter [5], Oasis [39], Billie Eilish [23], Gracie Abrams [17], Sonny Fodera/Jazzy/D.O.D. [9], Teddy Swims [13], Gigi Perez [11]

EH TIER:

Coldplay [27] (Enough with the physicals, it only makes you look bad.), Addison Rae [37], JADE [28] (Midnight Cowboy's gonna miss the chart isn't it. 🥶), Myles Smith [29], Ndotz [20]

YEESH TIER:

Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars [4], Teddy Swims [30], Coldplay [31], Dasha [34], The Kid LAROI [38], Alex Warren [35]

BOO TIER:

Benson Boone [22], Hozier [33], Alex Warren [32], BL3SS/CamrinWatsin/bbyclose [8]

ATROCIOUS TIER:

Jimin [40] (I'd tell the bots to f*** off, but they'll never listen to a 17 year-old Mancunian anytime soon.), Benson Boone [24], Teddy Swims [25]

NEW HITS:

Alex Warren - Burning Down [35] (His attempt to make a pop song here instead of the usual ballad, and it sounds like Tom Grennan. So it's awful then.)

Linkin Park - Heavy Is The Crown [66] (Released midweek, so not much it could've done here, but this just uncannily sounds like Papercut, Faint, and Bleed It Out meshed together.)

Bon Iver - S P E Y S I D E [70] (His first appearance in the charts for FIFTEEN YEARS. And unlike The National, no Taylor Swift in sight.)

Future - TEFLON DON - [72] (This is Future's THIRD album this year, including mixtapes. Give it a rest, my guy.)

Future - TOO SOON - [77] (Too soon to end, more like.)

Tom Grennan - Higher [78] (And speaking of Tom, he is down the dumper right now. Ignore this man with immediate effect.)

Don Toliver - NEW DROP [88] (Song from recent album. Gone viral on TikTok. Yadda yadda, you get the drill by now.)

Chrystal - The Days [96] (Boring dance mush as usual. Why can't Pendulum have a hit again exactly?)

Future - LIL DEMON [99] (Who else zoned out when first hearing this? Everyone? OK.)

(P.S. And no, I couldn't care less about Ed Sheeran forcing a Greatest Hits upon us like we hadn't heard the likes of Bad Habits, Photograph and Lego House a million times already. Except I like the latter, but don't tell anyone, OK?)

NEW MUSIC FRIDAY RANKINGS (Starting from most famous to least famous,  who I think, anyone I don't know will just come at the end)
(I shortened the list)

Timeless - the weeknd ft Playboi Carti (2/10) - This is one of the biggest fails for a collab this big in ages, it's actually so *ss, CAN CARTI MAKE ANY GOOD MUSIC? And don't get me started on the weeknds autotune, and this song lasts 4:16 ain't nobody caring about this, be ashamed and do better.

What a Girl Wants - Christina Aguilera ft Sabrina Carpenter (6/10) - Rare footage of Sabrina on a good song, infact Christina did a better part but Sabrina's still was good to, Speaking of Sabrina.. I BEG DONT GIVE HER THE AMAZON CHRISTMAS SONG!! WE DONT NEED HER AT NO.1 AGAIN 😭😭😭

Happy Mistake - Lady Gaga (5/10) - Don't make this something big please, anyone could make this.

Soltera - Shakira (5/10) - No clue what she's saying, I'm just ranking off of sound.

Heavy is the crown - Linkin park (7/10) - Not as good as 'The emptiness machine' but I'm still extremely impressed, this new singer rocks!!

Stars will align- Kygo ft Imigine dragons (5/10) - Snoozefest of a song

Lights Camera Action - Kylie Minogue (4/10) - You better get some good promo for Tension II (and better music) because your losing fans (including me)

In Your Hands - Craig David (2.5/10) - BL**DY H*LL THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE WORST COVERS/REMIXES IN HISTORY, What even is this...

Omega - ROSALIA ft Ralphie choo (5/10)

P*SSED OFF - BIA ft Lil Yachty (2/10) - More rap cr*p with no meaning, swearing, s*x references, violence, mumbling, autotune.. its already a bad song as it is but it feels like something ICE spice would go on. This song did make me "P*SSED OFF"

TEMPTATIONS - Tommy Richman (4/10) - I'll say it again! We did not need Tommy to trend!!

Midnight Cowboy - JADE (3.5/10) - Quit.

Kansas - Luke Bryan (5/10) - WHY does the hot 100 have a ton of these type of songs? There not bad. but who really cares??

Catch my breath - Alex Warren (5/10) - OK this isin't bad Alex but your style is starting to get a little to repetitive and meh

Is it the way - Saweetie (THE SAME SAWEETIE WHO WENT TO THE DIDDY PARTY) (4/10) - Sounds like GLOrilla

Pressure - RÜFÜS DU SOL (6/10)

Wanted - WILLOW Ft Kamasi Washington (4.5/10)

Silver lines- Damiano david ft labrinth (6/10)

Parachute - Nina nesbitt (6/10)

My Forever - SOPHIE ft Cecile Believe (2/10) - Repetitive cr*p, there's no way the artists on this song even believed in it.

Take Your Time - Sasha Keable ft 6LACK (4/10)

Alone - The cure (4/10) - I fell asleep listening to this.

Side - KJ Spio/Harmonize/Libianca (5/10) - I used to be sad Libianca was a one hit wonder... I don't really know now

In my bed - Ckay (6/10) - Rema could've done this better

June - Natalie june (6/10)

The magic - The aces (5/10) - Charlixcx without bad production and the cringe, still not something brilliant for me.

The ways I punish myself- Goldie Boutilier (5/10) - Her voice on this sounds like Hemlocke springs a tiny bit.

SOMEONE TO YOU - Matt Hansen (5/10) - I think Cian Decrot would do good on this

Postcards - Mackenzy Mackay (6/10)

Friend zone - Alex Sampson (5/10) - Pop that would taste like paper if you could eat it.

Ground control - Moody Joody (5/10)

Bird cage blue and yellow - Yaelokre (3/10) - What in the fairytale is this... I would be embarrassed getting caught playing this

Milkshakes - Soft launch (4/10) This is the best song I've ever heard.. in the past couple of minutes

It's Gonna Cost You - Montell Fish (2.5/10) - Tommy Richman but somehow worser

Centigrade - Gallant ft Nao (4/10) - Large parts of this song I can't understand, also is that a alien on the front

FEELINGS ON SILENT - Leon Thomas ft Wale (3/10) - I ain't listening to 8:29 of this.. quit yapping I'm skipping it, it's bad anyway.

I'll go anywhere - Mustafa (5/10) - This song is like tofu,bland.

Inconsolable - Katie Gavin (5/10)

Slugger - SASAMI (5/10)

Kiss Me Again - Pale Waves (5/10)

Heavens sake- Dylan Marlowe (3/10) - The autotune makes him sound so weird (In a bad way) This... this... I can't even describe it.. just eugh

Cracc era - Maxo Kream/Tyler/The Creator (3/10) - Yes Tyler and The Creator are 2 diffrent artists, what a cheap way to manipulate search results, it's a stupid rap song to just yapping about some cr*p

feel u luv ME - Knock2 (5/10) - White people working in call centers will hear this and start dancing like a pigeon, mid song.

Love Come Through - LP Giobbi ft Panama (5/10) - BBC1 presenters will think this is gold

Keep looking - Jessica Doolan (5/10)

Ee-er - Monaleo Ft Sauce Walka (2/10) - This sounds like Glo and stallions 'Wanna Be' but made with £10, the lyrics are also peak cringe, did you hire Lil D*cky to write them? Someone actually cheaper and worse than Ice Spice!

Wanting U Back - JayBaloo (4/10) - "My man was on high rizz" "Spot me a leng ting do i look smooth at" Bl**dy h*ll who the h*ll was your writer?? Central cee type song

Aubameyang - JS X YD (4.5/10)

Streets - Skengdo/AM/D/Proffit (3/10) - Don't get these people a podcast, I beg!

Stay In Your Lane - Taki Nulight/P Money/Jolie P (3/10) - When spotify push rap singles that's how you know it's gonna be bad, these ratings show 🙄

Heart Made Of Glass - Eli & Fur (5/10) - This is the type of song Rudimental would jump on, I can just imigine this made more dance like

Remember me - High Contrast (3/10) - Nobody wants this and nobody ever will.

ROSE & TULIPS - Capo Lee/bullet tooth (3/10) - Bland

To be fair, I also think the The Cure's new one is far from their best, but then again, it's been 16 years. I'm hardly expecting Friday I'm In Love for the Twitter generation, am I.

As for Christina and Sabrina, well, not even The Lords Above Of Chart-Rigging and Fan-Purchases (allegedly) also known as BTS can give XTINA a hit, so she may as well stick to making boring streaming site exclusives and what not. They really couldn't have done Ain't No Other Man or Candyman though? Everything else here is boring, and most of them are gonna be forgotten about by December. Except Heavy Is The Crown, but that will just be all the teens making AMVs and drawing the lyrics onto their Converses like 2007 never left.

Linkin Parks album will be out on November 15th, so a expected boost for 'Heavy is the crown' keeping it slightly more relevant

Looks like we have changes at both the top and bottom tiers today.

I’m genuinely amazed that ‘The Emptiness Machine’ might actually have longevity. Most rock songs plummet down the chart after the first week but this isn’t declining that fast at all.

Pleasantly surprised with the Addison Rae song so I’m glad that it finally made it into the Top 40 (although ‘Pepsi Cola’ by INJI is better). Tom Grennan’s new single completely missing the region doesn’t bother me as it was a real disappointment, especially the vocals… 😩

Oh wow, Playboi Carti had an absolutely disastrous second week. Not complaining about it as 'All Red' is souring on me.

Also glad that Katy Perry didn’t make any impact here since I didn’t like anything I heard from the album except for the closing track.

Both very true things!

LOL Piran confirming that he's as toxic as his idol the bully in chief TS, expected but nice to see the true colors of your toxicity.

Piran is not toxic at all, every time piran has spoken to me (Even in arguments) piran never lunges at me first, the upvotes show how many people like her so back off, out of everyone on this website you could've attacked you chose piran? Laughable.

Extra thing: I'm not guaranteed on this but I don't think piran is a male (Piran if im wrong please correct me)

So shame on you for misgendering people to.

Didn't realise simply not liking a song or album counts as being toxic now lol.

I also find it massively hypocritical that you talk about bullying when all the comments I've seen from you are either attacking female artists (mainly Taylor, who had absolutely nothing to do with this conversation) or attempting to make their fans feel insecure about their opinions.

I know it's the end of September but I didn't expect the snowflakes to show up this soon... 😭

It looks like NSYNC have the only ACR hit of the week. In other words, we’re just saying bye to ‘Bye Bye Bye’ lol.

Seriously though, the resurgence for it was fun while it lasted. The Deadpool hype may be done but it certainly led to a couple of interesting surprises during the summer.

Not impressed that the Ndotz song is surging up the chart thanks to TikTok virality.

I certainly hope the UK don’t “embrace it” for very much longer. :/

I like that ‘Hot To Go!’ and ‘Somedays’ landed new peaks in the Top 10.

Both ‘Sailor Song’ and ‘Pink Pony Club’ moving nearer to the region is also a good sign. Would be happy to see either of them break into the region in the coming weeks.

Despite the fall today, the physicals dropped at a perfect time for ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ since it allowed it avoid ACR. I’m absolutely fine with that because the song is fantastic! 😊

'Hot to go' was a big step down from 'Good luck, babe!' Imo
