A lot of us need to jump on the Chappell Roan bandwagon and stream the pants off of it I feel. This amount of rubber banding by Sabrina Carpenter is chart fiddling and chart fixing in it's own right I am not liking it it's putting the good reputation it got from the Gallup days of the chart with plenty of different genres and countries taking part and even the novelty records from the video streams and Heritage from the Physical as long as it's a UK sale, download, stream down the toilet making a mockery of the entire chart now.
Plus the New Music Friday is bad it's not the full picture of what you see on the Apple, YouTube Music and Spotify frontpage on a Friday at all I actually get Heritage artists new music in my feeds as well as the modern artists modern tracks and even Indian on my UK releases page.
It is bad because when copying and pasting New Music Friday to listen to it what might be the best music out on new music fridays for that week can't make it into the chart because some people don't know how to find it if it's not on the page here to stream the pants off of it.
It's unfair for our better tracks to use ACR/SCR and 0.5 division maths as well fiddling the chart I feel I've seen what ACR/SCR has done to Chart of Gold what is happening is the same dire things happening here with the same artists covering the full Top 20 even if the fan votes voted them down lower the following week they still remain up top dominating it's bad rules.
Ok, Creative and Dreams are coming out with some decent Heritage Artist modern tracks from Landing Party/Cathodes and John Carr ect. but they are also coming out with a load of pish as well I don't like John Carr's cover of Associates at all and there's no way it deserves to be Top 10 in Chart of Gold but ACR/SCR is doing it so I don't get why K-OCC took it on it does ruin charts legitimacy.
Bring in weekly chart clean sweeps and AI detecting a Bar Scan, Download and Stream from a UK IP I say get rid of 05 divisions too you don't need them with weekly AI clean slates lets get us the direct real results we deserve weekly.
If on clean slates a track that was Top 10 doesn't appear in the AI list the next week it means it's actually not even in the chart anymore if it does and only scores low it can also go out because it's unlimited track pools until the Friday when the AI takes it down to 200.
When it's 200 that 200 is in play until the Top 40 show is over with the host covering the exciting manics of the action locks in Number 40 with a lock in button on the screen of the AI program.
With 40 locked in though 41-200 is still in play to take over 39 and the same lock in process happens all the way until Top of the Pops.
I think they need to bring in this half manual lock in your numbers AI system as live charts of these weekly clean slate charts would be very exciting listening.

ACTUAL Chart Review 02/08/24
[insert a joke that sets up the script for this review here]
Isn't the summer grand? The endless heat-filled weekdays, the lack of school to put you off your M&Ms, and the feeling that you're never one holiday away from a major sporting event. Yes, the Olympics have been blaring from my TV (who needs a Discovery+ account when you have an Amazon Fire stick?) and I've been loving every minute of it. Well, apart from the same-old countries doing well, the whole world going mental anytime Israel do anything, and a situation where you can't go 5 minutes on Twitter without someone with a single-digit IQ raving on about The Last Supper getting massacred. Listen, geezers. No one asked you to sit through an opening ceremony with Lady Gaga, Zinedine Zidane and the Minions in it. The last thing you should be complaining about is an overgrown Smurf with his "reliable" out.
But I'm here to take a break from rooting for the likes of Hong Kong and Guatemala to state that Radio 1 wasting 80 hours of my life with annoying dance cloggers like NewEra and Majestic is not ideal. And also, the Top 40, after I sacked it off yesterday. It doesn't take a genius to determine who ended up on the porcelain throne this week, Sabrina Carpenter continuing to prove that nobody is allowed to whisk her away to the Tower of London for crimes against British music. So it's yet another week for Please Please Please, meanwhile Eminem is also untouchable on the albums as well, his "I'm Dead, Honest" effort snatching a 3rd week at the top in the face of every female superstar you care to name. But there's more to the charts than this ya doofus.
Thus, speculation has carried over to who will end up victorious at the end of all this tomfoolery in the next few weeks. You could be forgiven for betting all your life savings on BIRDS OF A FEATHER by Billie Eilish, considering it's finally usurped Sabrina at the Spotify top spot, but nope. She slips to 3 today, to accompdate the kind of song that will be sang by our descendants WAY past our funeral dates, the kind of hit that will aggravate certain people on this forum (you know who you are). And most importantly, it's probably not even peaked yet. So salutations to Chappell Roan for receiving another dollop of praise from my HQ, as Good Luck, Babe is now sitting pretty at No.2. Just a shame that, knowing my luck, she probably won't even reach the promised land in the end.
Given how static the Top 10 has ended up by this point, you would think I'd give the latest newcomer to the best-sellers a chance to show us what it takes. Except when that track is Kisses by BL3SS, CamrinWatsin, bbyclose, and probably about 20 uncredited writers that we'll never hear from again because the TikTok generation are very picky when it comes to success. For every Mimi Webb or PinkPantheress, there's Kenya Grace. 21KGoldn. Ckay. Belters Only. GAYLE. I could go on all day. So take your pity points guys, 'cause I desperately hope to never hear from you lot again. The fact it's climbed to 7 is hardly my cup of tea, and I just know it's headed for the Top 3. In a dull world, anyway. Which I live in. And I hate it.
So yeah, the future of music is in some horrible hands, but maybe Charli XCX can come and save us? What with 360 and Apple knocking on the glass ceiling, anything is possible. Jimin only slips to 11, certainly better than the 29 he was positioned in on Monday, but you can blame the army of fangirls and their multiple accounts for that stability. Oh, and JADE falls to 13. Which is fine, I guess. Ignore the fact her Spofity hopes have gone to seed, and you have probably the most successful solo career from the Little Mix girls. Potentially. Don't get your hopes up.
Considering I couldn't care less about uploading this yesterday, I'll fly through the 3 new hits as if my life doesn't depend on it. Post Malone's 3rd effort in his country extravaganza lands at 26, doing better than his last collab which is all well and good, but this one has Luke Combs on it so maybe I should stop giving him false praise. Central Cee is back. AGAIN. And I genuinely couldn't tell you what gen z luv sounded like for the purposes of this review. And I've just listened to it. Maybe there's a good reason he's limped to 34. And at No.36, Calvin Harris takes this week's award for "Bottlejob Of The Day" by a massive landslide. Maybe it's because he keeps collaborating with Ellie Goulding, or maybe it's due to the slight issue that it's so workalike it could give Paul Weller a run for his money, but Free is just, SO BORING, that I'm not surprised it's flopped.
It's gonna rocket up the charts now I've said that, isn't it. 😰
But don't fret, folks. Because at No.30 is the latest in a long, long line of old songs suddenly getting a second wind this year and becoming hit-worthy all over again. You know how Stray Kidz roped Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman for the video to their hit from last week? (down to 68 today, which is better than I thought.) Well, yeah, there's a good reason for that. Deadpool & Wolverine has been inescapable the last few weeks, and no, it's not because one of them owns a football club that's marginally better than Mansfield Town. Inevitably, the soundtrack is gonna have a few shocks and gasps, and who better to lead us to Nostalgia Land than *NSYNC. Remember those lot. They were the (somewhat boring, thinking about it) boyband that Justin Timberlake used to be in before he starting upsetting Britney Spears supporters and making songs that went on forever and ever (Mirrors, I'm looking at you). Bye Bye Bye originally reached No.3 in the heady days of 2000, so to see it suddenly rocket up the streaming charts and land at 30 today is nothing short of miraculous. It's like Florence + the Machine all over again.
Outside the 40 and we have newbies from Sonny Fodera, Gigi Perez, Charli XCX, mgk, Aitch and D-Block Europe, Pharrell Williams, Gordo, and Tom Odell ruining the legacy of Black Friday for anyone and everyone. So onto next week I guess, and one of the above has duetted with Billie Eilish on a remix of one of their songs. Take a wild guess. And no, that pun wasn't intended. Honest. They'll be competing against Mimi Webb, Mura Masa, FLO, Sub Focus, Polo G and Khalid for chart supremacy, meanwhile over on the album chart, Jack White's surprise thingy he put out for no reason has to square up and brace itself. Because Kanye West is back with the 2nd of his VULTURES schtick, and I don't wanna be here for the fallout again. Except I will be. Too-da-loo.
(P.S. I can confirm from the early Spotify updates that some very funny things are about to happen for the ladies that made stuff like Ily2, ilomilo, and L'AMOUR DE MA VIE. Safe to say, here come the girls.)

You seem to care when another group is getting attacked? Defaming a religion isint funny and even if they didint mean to offend the opening still s*cked. Feeling offended that your mocked isint "single digit IQ" I see a lot of people on this website have a problem with me when I don't like something satanic and if it was targeting lgbt or racist I'm sure you would be concerned. So to anyone religion phobic mind your business your the one with the single digit IQ
danielcordell
I'll tell you a secret all this rubber banding tripe is to do with ACR/SCR and 0.5 divisions as well as track bans limiting it to only 200 tracks from the multi chart pool of everything to hit 1-100 on a Kantar-OCC run chart which is far more than 200 tracks.
They really need to have all 500-1000 K-OCC Chart tracks in play and only cut it down to 200-100-40 only at the end of the week and down or even eliminate those which gets no or too low to stay in the 40 figures the following week and AI counting so 0.5 is took out as it would be a live addition as soon as a click is captured and definitely ban ACR/SCR rules they are the bane of the chart ruining it as thats the Top 20 pulling rules which plays into acts and labels favours we don't like as chart fans.
When Chart of Gold brought it in it ruined their chart as well it's only ever Creative and Dreams and Nobby Clark has a chance thats it on that chart due to ACR/SCR rules K-OCC needs to get rid like a bad habit.

i think sabrina is gonna do what justin bieber almost 10 years ago

I totally agree that the door Is 10/10

You won't want Birds in the Sky on ACR/SCR if you are not clear on what it is it has been proven to be the thing bringing all the so so tracks into the 1-20 you really don't want that at all on that and I don't want either.
It's been proven in the Chart of Gold Creative and Dreams and Nobby Clark effect that ACR/SCR is in fact the menace that fiddles K-OCC's heads personal favorites tracks to the top messing with the real results which Birds in the Sky is probably in that not ever made it to the chart in the first place without it in place kinda deal.

4: the chain - Fleetwood Mac
5: pretty green eyes - Ultrabeat
6: lovestruck - Madness

Surely Chappell Roan has to be number 1 next week! Jade will hopefully move up now that she has been added on the Radio 1 playlist but I really don't like the new remix that has just come out.

this week, pop music was in the news for the wrong reason, because recently a lunatic went into a taylor swift dance class with a knife and left three people killed and seven more injured. not only that but these people were literal kids. my thoughts lay with the families of these victims, as this will undeniably be a tough time for all of them.
the responses to this, however, were absolutely shocking. these families and witnesses are not only in devastation but the place they call home is now subject to riots on streets flooded with armed police, and the people rioting have been fed through misinformation and a fascist agenda. the murderer was identified as a 17yo rwandan, but there was no indication that he was muslim, yet people started attacking mosques. for the racist pieces of sh*t that decided to willingly attack a town that’s already in outcry over the loss of three little girls’ lives, i hope you know there’s a special place in h3ll waiting for you. you’ve been brainwashed and fed misinformation.
music is not just a sound, but an expression. it ties into our emotions and identity which no one should be shamed for. we shouldn’t have to picture young people being killed for the music they appreciate, not only because that’s downright ridiculous, but because of the racist outcry that just happened. stay safe out there, and once again, rest in peace to the three young lives that were taken in southport. 💔
Piran
Very sad news. Rest in peace to the girls and my thoughts are with their family, friends and the wider Southport community during this unimaginably difficult time. :/

Chart Review except it isn't 02/08/24
I can't be bothered posting my overlooking of the UK Top 40 today. Not that I caught the heebie-jeebies or suffered mental health issues of any sort, but because the Olympics are FAR too important. Who wouldn't want to watch Tajikistan win a medal? My review will be posted tomorrow though, so stick around for that if you wanna see me run around in my back garden at the sight of Chappell Roan being No.2, BL3SS and CamrinWatsin giving me PTSD, Calvin and Ellie flopping to high heaven, and also *NSYNC returning to inspire childhoods all over again thanks to Deadpool & Wolverine. Oh, and Sabrina's No.1 again. Not like you'd notice.
Here's my rankings and new hits though. They won't be posted with the review tomorrow however.
AMAZING TIER:
Chappell Roan [2], Charli XCX [12] (What do you mean she's 32 years old!?), Chappell Roan [23], Shaboozey [10] (So ACR hasn't worked then. 😅)
GREAT TIER:
Charli XCX [14], Bruce Springsteen [35], Kendrick Lamar [9], *NSYNC [30] (I'm guessing Fergie's Glamorous and I'm With You by Avril Lavigne were too obvious to chart then.), Sabrina Carpenter [8]
GOOD TIER:
Chappell Roan [38], Billie Eilish [3], Dominic Fike [40], Adam Port/Stryv/Everyone On Planet Earth [18], Sabrina Carpenter [1], Taylor Swift [27], Jordan Adetunji [15] (A remix with the actual Kehlani dropped today, if anyone was wondering.)
OK TIER:
Eminem [6] (I can't be bothered saying he has the No.1 album this week.), Central Cee ft. Lil Baby [17], The Blessed Madonna/Clementine Douglas [25], Post Malone & Morgan Wallen [28], Ice Spice/Central Cee [21], Noah Kahan [32], Teddy Swims [24]
AVERAGE TIER:
Coldplay [31], Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding [36] (Ouch. That's all.), Myles Smith [4], Central Cee [34] (He's got 27 hits and you'd barely recognise him if you saw him on the street.)
DISLIKE TIER:
Dasha [5] (Oh, so NOW it peaks. Typical, eh?), The Kid LAROI [33], JADE [13], Post Malone & Luke Combs [26] (The inevitable collaboration with prog-rockers Yes is only a few years away, gentlemen. 😓), Hozier [19]
BAD TIER:
Benson Boone [16], BL3SS/CamrinWatsin/bbyclose [7], Jimin [11] (Man, iTunes can get lost.), Majestic/The Jammin Kid/Celine Dion [39]
AWFUL TIER:
Benson Boone [22], David Guetta & OneRepublic [20] (Who is actually still streaming this? Apart from Capital listeners, the fans and the bots?), NewEra [37], Teddy Swims [29]
NEW ONES (and other funny stuff):
Post Malone & Luke Combs - Guy For That [26] (Yeah this isn't worth it. My hatred of Luke Combs ain't stoppin' now, chaps.)
*NSYNC - Bye Bye Bye [30] (Their best song in my opinion, but it sounds better right now than it did in 2000. Probably because it seemed generic back then.)
Central Cee - gen z luv [34] (As unidentifiable as a bottle of Pepsi. NEXT.)
Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding - Free [36] (Yeesh, this could've gone better. Their worst collab yet, and for good reason. It's formulaic as all heck.)
Sonny Fodera/Jazzy/D.O.D. - Somedays [42] (This time last year Sonny Fodera was gearing up for Top 10 supremacy. His new one is kinda bad though.)
Gigi Perez - Sailor Song [53] (This guy's trying to be Noah Kahan, I can tell before I even listened to it. I just have a hunch, y'know?)
Charli XCX - 365 [63] (It may be 360 with different lyrics, but boy is it ACE.)
mgk/Jelly Roll - Lonely Road [67] (I preferred him when he was making Misery Businees soundalikes.)
Aitch/D-Block Europe - Gold Mine [71] (Nowhere near the level of success that UFO had, and for good reason. It's LAME.)
Pharrell Williams - Double Life [80] (Ah yes, the traditional Despicable Me/Pharrell collab. At least it's faring better than his contributions to the 3rd film.)
Gordo & Drake - Sideways [85] (Didn't he produce Massive that one time?)
Tom Odell & Lost Frequencies - Black Friday (Pretty Like The Sun) [88] (So much for me ever liking the original again.)

So me being offended cause someones talking about something blasphemous offends you? I'm christian deal with it. Idc if your religion phobic
Piran
Oh dear me...
1) You lashed out at Alfie for not talking about music topics even though he literally posted a Top 40 ranking.
2) How are the Olympics "blasphemous"? They were centuries old before Christianity even began.
3) Olivia/Itsnoodleszn has never commented on this post so idk why you're bringing her up.
4) Literally nobody has said anything against religion on this post or the replies, but you continue to force it down everybody's throat every week, which makes your comments on us not talking about music even more hypocritical.
At this point, I'm convinced you're either a child, a troll or a Frank alt.
macie
Starling, if you even attempted to use that minuscule brain of yours for once in your life, you’d know the “mockery of Christianity” was literally about Greek mythology 💀 Also once again, we have talked about off topic stuff on this website for YEARS now. You do NOT get to come here and tell us what to do when a) you’re clearly a literal child and b) you only joined within the past year. Nobody wants to see your coke rants in this comment section week on week because YOU are offended that we DARE to talk about things not related to the charts. Get your head out of your ar*e you schizophrenic waste of air. And for the record I’m not itsnoodle, she’s a completelydifferent person so stop slagging her off for no reason.
M
mrstarling
1. I didint lash out I was talking about how he was going to post his Olympic review
2. The opening to the Olympics was blasphemous and it started 1896
3. I'm saying I told multiple people that's no attack aimed at you
4. I talk about it when I'm offended and Alfie said about it.
Frank literally called me a clown to I wouldent be his alt. And I geniuely care about the charts
M
mrstarling
I've been commenting since 2022 and started checking charts in 2021. Your wrong.
Your right I shouldent of went so crazy about this being a music forum and I apoligise but I'm still talking about Christianity if it has something to do with the topic. And Alfie did specifically mention Olympics then blasphemy in his latest comment.
Piran
1) Alfie wrote two short sentences about it. I don't think that qualifies as a "review". He was referring to the charts when he said about posting it tomorrow, and your first reply to him was in all-caps which seems like lashing out to me.
2) The modern Olympics started in 1896. The ancient Olympics started in Greece and date back to the 8th century BC. Christianity didn't exist until the 1st century AD.
3) I never said you brought me up on it, but when Olivia is being brought up completely unprovoked and she's my friend, I'm obviously going to stand up for her. You did apologise at the top of the page for the mix up though, so fair enough.
4) You seem to be offended at nearly everything, no offense. People can post about whatever they want here within reason and this has been happening for years. You can't expect everybody to change that all because one person doesn't like it.
M
mrstarling
1. Alfie wrote a whole review later
2. That doesent mean people can't change the Olympics and blaspheme it
Piran
A review which was mainly about the chart lmao.
itsnoodleszn_
piran, macie, thank you both for coming to my defence, though you really didn’t have to lol. i noticed starling had a little mess up and he clarified it at the top of this page but cheers in any case. i was actually gonna reply something similar to him, but 1) you worded it better than i could, and 2) i don’t really wanna interact with this guy anyway 😅
also piran you were spot on about the olympic facts!

my music takeaway for the night: 🥡
have a good weekend everyone! (and hope you’ll be streaming the new destroy boys album on the 9th!) 💞
Piran
Hey Olivia! Hope you've been doing okay. :)
- Yeah, I feel like Sabrina is getting definitely into overexposure territory at this point, and we still have the album at the end of the month.
- Have you heard the remix of 'Kehlani' with Kehlani herself yet? If so, what did you think?
- I'm mixed on The Kid Laroi but 'Nights Like This' is probably his worst song to date imo. I can't stand it.
- I thought Bruce Springsteen was going to drop out with all the other football-themed songs but it's good to see 'Dancing In The Dark' stick around.
- I'm on the fence with 'Who'. It has its flaws but it's probably my favourite solo single by Jimin, even if I much prefer the rock remix. To go from #4 last Friday to #28 on Monday to #11 today is widely inconsistent.
You have a good weekend too! ❤️
itsnoodleszn_
i didn’t even know the kehlani hopped on a remix! i’ll have to listen to it after dinner if it means there’s a longer runtime. hope you have a good weekend and if i’m here at any point this weekend, ill be on a lil getaway and thus commenting from york! :3
Piran
Have fun! Meanwhile, I'm back in Cornwall until the 11th and enjoying a week off work. :)

Just so you know, the reason for so many Jimin entries on iTunes is because the label botched the physicals (2 versions disallowed because of photocards) so they rush released two digital albums and a remix EP that all had the same 5 remixes and 1 instrumental of the track. So that is one original version, 5 remixes and 1 instrumental. They got listed separately and made a mess in the chart, but if there had been any double purchase they have been filtered out as per the chart rules. Seems like a lot of people are spreading rumours that there were tons and tons of remixes, but it certainly didn't have any more than most top ten hits have (you can see for yourself in any retailer). Jimin is currently in the South Korean military doing his mandatory service and can't do any promotion whatsoever, compared to other artists in the top ten, so to have scored such a high entry with no radio and no autoplay push is a sign of a crossover hit just like his song last year called Like Crazy. Why not give it listen and see what you think.
itsnoodleszn_
thanks for the info sunshine! yeah it’s not the most saturated song i’ve seen on the charts as of recent (i know taylor swift and lewis capaldi have pushed a lot) but i was just curious because it’s been a while since ive seen an itunes song dominate like that, thanks so much for clearing it up!
i’ve had a quick listen to the standard version by the way and i think it’s pretty decent. gives me 2000s boyband vibes
C
Chrissyl40
I think Springsteen is sticking around because of 2 amazing nights at Wembley as well long may it continue but fully expect it to disappear next week but who knows🤞🤞🤞
itsnoodleszn_
thanks chrissy! i had no clue about the wembley shows but it’s awesome to see it stick around whatever the reason
itsnoodleszn_
in response to piran: i’ve just heard the kehlani remix and yeah it’s even better! it helps that ive been liking quite a bit of kehlani lately (specifically their it was good until it wasn’t album) and they actually suit this beat a lot :> between them and billie eilish, sapphic artists have been on one with the steaming hot feature verses today
M

I'd say I prefer the Kehlani version to the original too... even if the Billie remix of Charli's 'Guess' quickly overshadowed it! 😅

‘Kisses’ is heading in the wrong direction. ‘DNA (Loving You)’ did this sound so much better, so the former outpeaking the latter is really disappointing! 😩
Oh well, at least ‘Guy For That’ got a decent placement (probably my favourite of the three recent Post Malone country songs) and I’m pleasantly surprised that *NSYNC are back in the Top 40 with an absolute classic.

I’m surprised ‘Free’ didn’t debut higher. Hopefully it’ll climb in the weeks ahead now that the summer holidays have started. It may not be on the same level as Calvin and Ellie’s other collabs but I still love it! ❤️
Speaking of addictive dance anthems, I’m rooting for ‘Somedays’ to eventually get into the Top 40. :)
Piran
It’s looking like we could see a Top 10 hit (maybe even two) from Charli with this new era. Would be awesome to see ’360’ and ‘Apple’ both make it! 😊
‘365’ debuting is good too, even if I’d personally have preferred ‘Rewind’ or ‘Talk Talk’.
Piran
‘Austin’ is definitely the slow burner of the year in terms of chart success. 17th consecutive week in the Top 10 but its first in the Top 5.
Kind of wish it would go on ACR soon though. The overplay really got me with this one. :/
Piran
I hope Sabrina’s takeover doesn’t result in lots of other amazing artists getting denied the top spot, especially when it’s with one of her weaker singles for me.
danielcordell
Well people keep calling for more ACR/SCR and 0.5 divisions when it's that system which is bringing the stuff to the top the results fiddlers are.
Chart of Gold uses ACR/SCR too and that is bringing Nobby Clark and Creative and Dreams always to the top and the better tracks stay at the bottom in it.
I am correct the system the people are wanting them to use more is actually the systems creating chronic rubber banding, non moving and tracks from 2 years summer re-entering over and over again to painful levels not allowing the real latest track to come in.
