Labrinth has unveiled his new single Let It Be.

Musical maverick Labrinth has premiered his new single Let It Be with a surprise performance.

The star performed the song at a pop-up gig in Camden, London last Sunday (August 17), where he appeared backed by a choir on a stage created especially for the occasion.

Let It Be – released on September 28 via Syco – serves as the lead single from his second studio album, which is expected to be released later this year.

“I knew I had been gone a long time and needed to come back with a single that was special, something forward-thinking,” Labrinth said.

“I wanted an opening statement to my second album and I put extra pressure on myself to come up with that.”

The singer’s new album follows his 2012 Platinum-selling debut Electronic Earth, which peaked at Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart and spawned a string of hit singles, including Let The Sun Shine, Earthquake, Express Yourself and the Number 1 track Beneath Your Beautiful.
