The Official best-selling new vinyl releases of the last 10 years
It's Taylor Swift's world, we're just living in it

Taylor Swift's Midnights is officially the best-selling new vinyl release of the last 10 years, Official Charts can confirm today.
All this week Official Charts are marking 10 years of the Official Vinyl Charts, originally launched in April 2015 as a response to the vinyl resurgence that was gripping the UK and has continued at pace ever since. While the story of collector classics like Fleetwood Mac Rumours and Nirvana's Nevermind may be well told, this week we'll be zooming in on the new releases on vinyl this decade that are often propelling the modern vinyl boom.
According to Official Charts Company data, Taylor Swift's 2022 LP Midnights - Taylor's 10th studio album, re-recordings aside - has shifted nearly 130,000 vinyl copies since its release in October 2022. In its first week on sale in the UK, Midnights opened with the biggest first-week sales of Taylor's career at the time, with 204,000 chart units (a record Taylor would break less than two years later). It topped the Official Albums Chart for five non-consecutive weeks, and spent seven non-consecutive weeks at Number 1 on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart too between 2022 and 2023.
More than any other artist, Taylor has learnt how to use the vinyl boom not just as a promotional tool, but also as a way to deepen fan connection; with each vinyl release perceived by fans as an essential addition to their collection, another piece of the puzzle to understanding (and celebrating) her artistry.
In tribute to this, Taylor places a total of eight albums in the Top 40 list of the best-selling new release vinyl albums from 2015-2025.

Coming in at Number 2 is her most recent album, 2024's The Tortured Poets Department, which has sold 115,000 vinyl copies since its release in April last year. Upon its debut The Tortured Poets Department earned the biggest first-week sales for any album in the UK for seven years with 270,000 chart units (Ed Sheeran’s 2017 blockbusting record ÷ (Divide), which logged 672,000 first-week UK chart units).
The other Taylor albums to make the list include; 1989 (Taylor's Version) (4), folklore (11), Lover (24), evermore (25), Lover (Live From Paris) (30) and Speak Now (Taylor's Version) (37).
Harry Styles picks up the biggest British vinyl release of the past decade with Harry's House (3). Harry also earns a second placing inside the Top 10 with 2019's Fine Line (6), while his debut album Harry Styles makes the Top 20 (17).

David Bowie's greatest hits collection Legacy places at Number 5, while The Thin White Duke's final album, 2016's Blackstar, also appears at Number 8.
Billie Eilish's eye-catching debut WHERE WE ALL FALL ASLEEP WHERE DO WE GO? comes in at Number 9, while last year's HIT ME HARD AND SOFT is also present at Number 32.
Rounding out the pop-heavy Top 10, we have Ed Sheeran's Divide (7) and Tame Impala's Currents (10), a record of sophisticated indie-synth pop that has proved a fruitful inspiration for A-List pop acts like Rihanna and Dua Lipa.
Other acts with multiple appearances in the wider Top 40 are; Arctic Monkeys, with The Car (12) and Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino (20), Adele's 25 (13) and 30 (14), Sam Fender's Hypersonic Missiles (16) and Seventeen Going Under (23) and Oliva Rodrigio's two LPs, GUTS (28) and SOUR (29).
