Taylor Swift marks huge chart feat as The Tortured Poets Department reaches tenth non-consecutive week at Number 1
Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department holds strong at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart this week, earning a huge feat in the process.
Taylor is now the first international solo artist to achieve 10 non-consecutive weeks at Number 1 in 25 years – and the only one this century – since Shania Twain’s Come On Over in 1999 (which spent 11 weeks at the top in total). This week marked the end of Taylor’s record-breaking Eras Tour.
Meanwhile, Michael Bublé’s Christmas rises one to Number 3, while ROSÉ’s debut solo studio album Rosie debuts at Number 4, making her the first ever female K-pop artist to earn a Top 5 album in the UK. As part of Blackpink, ROSÉ managed two Top 5 albums, 2020’s The Album (2) and 2022’s chart-topping Born Pink.
Sabrina Carpenter sees her 2023 Christmas EP Fruitcake (5) make a huge Top 5 debut on the Official Albums Chart, following the release of her Netflix special A Nonsense Christmas - which saw her perform tracks from the collection with guest stars including Chappell Roan and Shania Twain.
Just outside the Top 10, Coldplay’s Moon Music soars 29 places to Number 13; the album previously debuted at Number 1 upon its original release in October.
Another former Number 1 album, Hozier’s Unreal Unearth, spikes back into the Top 40 this week thanks to the release of its deluxe edition, Unreal Unearth: Unending (23).
Finally, Dutch violinist and conductor Andre Rieu & His Johann Strauss Orchestra earn their 15th Top 40 collection with The Sound of Heaven, landing straight in at Number 29.
