Sabrina Carpenter set to earn second UK Top 10 album with fruitcake
Sabrina's festive EP gets a big boost following her Netflix Christmas special, A Nonsense Christmas.
Sabrina Carpenter is set to earn her second UK Top 10 album this week with fruitcake.
The Christmas-focused EP was originally released in 2023, but is set to make its Official Albums Chart debut this week, pacing right now for an entry at Number 2.
It receives a massive boost following the release of Sabrina’s Netflix special, A Nonsense Christmas, where she performed tracks from the EP and a series of covers with guest stars including Chappell Roan and Shania Twain.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department is expected to hold on to Number 1 for a tenth non-consecutive week. Last night, Taylor’s monolithic The Eras Tour came to an end after 21 months.
ROSÉ could become the first K-pop female solo act to secure a UK Top 5 album come Friday. rosie, her debut solo LP, is expected to bow at Number 4. It’s birthed the biggest song of ROSÉ’s career so far, the Top 2 hit APT with Bruno Mars, a contender for Christmas Number 1 2024.
Hozier’s former Number 1 third album Unreal Unearth is set for a Top 10 return thanks to the release of its deluxe edition Unreal Unearth: Unending (8). Earlier this year, the original version became Hozier’s first chart-topping album in the UK.
Coldplay’s former chart-topper Moon Music could rocket back into the Top 20, up 31 week-on-week (11), it previously topped the chart for one week this October.
Texan rockers White Denim zone in on their third UK Top 40 record with 12 (21), while iconic British prog-rock outfit Jethro Tull’s 2003 The Jethro Tull Christmas Album could make its Top 40 debut, 20 years after its initial release (22).
CHVRCHES frontwoman Lauren Mayberry’s solo debut Vicious Creature eyes a debut at Number 27 – she’ll be discussing the album on The Record Club this week – while Gillian Welch & David Rawlings’s Woodland comes in at Number 28 mid-week.
Finally, Andre Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra could earn a 15th Top 40 LP with their latest collection The Sound of Heaven aiming for Number 30.
