Tate McRae announces new album, So Close to What, and huge 2025 UK tour dates
Tate McRae has just announced the release of her third album and a huge UK tour, both set for next year.
The Canadian multi-hyphenate will be kicking off 2025 with the release of her third LP, So Close to What, set for release February 25 2025, and will then hit the road for the global Miss Possessive Tour, which will hit several dates in the UK and Ireland next May.
So Close to What has been preceded by its lead single, It's Ok, I'm Ok, which debuted and peaked at Number 14, Tate's highest-ever debut in the UK. The record's second single, 2 hands, drops tonight.
See the (very good) cover for Tate's third album, So Close to What, below.
It follows hot on the heels of 2023's THINK LATER, Tate's sophomore album which saw her step into her big pop girl era with ease. The LP was lead by the kinetic one-two punch of lead track Greedy, which peaked at Number 3 in the UK and completely re-calibrated Tate's career, as the Britney-esque banger Exes (Number 12 UK peak), both of which were produced by hitmaker Ryan Tedder.
Upon release, THINK LATER became Tate's highest-charting album in the UK, peaking at Number 5. Her first full-length record, 2022's I Used To Think I Could Fly, reached Number 7 and contained the (excellent) Top 20 single She's All I Wanna Be.
