Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving leapfrogs Harry Styles to claim the Official biggest album of 2026 so far, Official Charts can confirm.
Having released her second studio set last October, the chart-topping album continues to make waves this year, shifting 385,000 chart units so far this year in the process, according to Official Charts Company data.
Therefore, landing at second place in this latest quarterly update is Harry Styles’ Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.. His fourth studio LP is the biggest new release of year, after earning the star his best opening week ever, selling in excess of 183,000 chart units in its opening week.
Moonwalking his way into the standings is Michael Jackson with The Essential Michael Jackson (3). After the release of his biopic Michael in April, the King of Pop’s discography has been embraced by generations. The Essential Michael Jackson sits just a mere 200 units behind Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally., at the end of the second quarter, reiterating MJ’s incredible legacy.
Jackson also finds other classics projects in Thriller (21) and Bad (26) breaking the year-to-date Top 40 as a result.
The most recent release of 2026 on the list comes courtesy of Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide, in at Number 9. Following the success of 2022’s Stick Season, which also makes the quarterly list at Number 12, The Great Divide is honoured with a Top 10 induction, after debuting at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart in May.
Elsewhere, more homegrown talent makes up the list. RAYE’s first chart-topping collection THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE. lands at Number 17, making it the biggest independent release of the year. Meanwhile, breakout Scouse rapper EsDeeKid’s debut Rebel positions at Number 39.
Following their record-breaking Tottenham Hotspur shows as part of their BTS WORLD TOUR “ARIRANG”, K-pop seven-piece BTS's comeback album ARIRANG rises 15 spots from the last update (20), securing the best performing K-pop project of 2026 to date as a result.
The biggest rap album of 2026 so far comes from Drake with ICEMAN (25). Released alongside HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR, the Canadian multihyphenate became the first artist in Official Charts history to debut three studio albums inside the Top 10 earlier this year.

@OfficialCharts - when you do these type of posts, can you possibly do another chart of albums/singles that were actually released in the year you're referencing (i.e. 2026 only)? Only titles released on 1 January 2026 until whatever date in 2026? Thanks.
