New Music Friday songs singles albums February 14th 2025

Welcome to New Music Friday, your one place to discover the biggest new song, album and DVD releases.

First, let’s talk albums.

Newly-crowned BRITs Global Success winner Sabrina Carpenter serves up the deluxe edition of former chart-topper Short N’ Sweet. The album now boasts five brand-new tracks, including a remix of Number 1 single Please Please Please with Dolly Parton and fan favourite Busy Woman; previously available for a limited time exclusively through Sabrina’s online store.

Don’t forget to catch Sabrina performing at the BRITs 2025 on Saturday, March 1.

Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule reunite as Rizzle Kicks with Competition is for Losers; their first studio record in 12 years featuring collaborations with Maverick Sabre, Mick Jenkins, Lex Amor and DJ Premier. Listen carefully and you’ll hear none other than JADE chipping in with some backing vocals, too. The boys’ ‘best music’ yet by their own admission, can it earn them a hat-trick of Top 5 LPs alongside 2011’s Stereo Typical (5) and 2013’s Roaring 20s (3)?

Manic Street Preachers are back with 15th studio collection Critical Thinking this week. The Welsh rock legends will be hoping to replicate the chart-topping success of their last record; 2021’s The Ultra Vivid Lament

Liverpool lads The Wombats also mark their return with sixth studio LP Oh! The Ocean. The group – Matthew Murphy, Tord Øverland Knudsen and Dan Haggis – scored their first-ever Number 1 album with 2022’s Fix Yourself, Not the World. Same again, fellas?

Canadian singer-songwriter Alessia Cara releases her fourth studio record Love & Hyperbole, as The Lumineers drop their fifth, Automatic.

As she announces her joint Grand National UK stadium tour alongside Kendrick Lamar, SZA expands SOS Deluxe: LANA with four new tracks, while Neil Young delivers Oceanside Countryside; a long-anticipated ‘lost’ album recorded in 1977.

Now, onto singles.

With her Tension Tour kicking off in Perth, Australia this weekend, Kylie Minogue joins forces with Brazilian producer Alok on dance drop last night i dreamt i fell in love. "Just in time for Valentine's Day," the pair said as they announced the track on social media. "We're so ready for everyone to hear this!"

Also delivering a Valentine's gift to fans, Perrie straps in for Rollercoaster. Complete with whistle note (on record, finally!), the song sees Perrie channel her inner '90s pop-R&B diva. Think Mariah Carey’s Butterfly-meets-Whitney Houston’s I’m Your Baby Tonight, with Starsmith on production duties.

After weeks of teasing, Addison Rae finally unleashes brand-new cut High Fashion. Already approved by her bestie Charli xcx, the track kick-starts what's sure to be a big year for the breakout Louisiana-born star.

Everyone report to the dancefloor! Five years after the release of her last studio record Heavy Love, Louise is back and in a whole new space sonically. Confession serves as a bold statement of artistic ambition, seeing Lou team up with Jon Shave (Charli xcx's BRAT), Anya Jones and Wayne Hector.

"I don’t want to be a heritage act," Louise tells Official Charts. "I don’t want to be a nostalgic act. I’m so proud of those songs, but I want to keep moving forward. There’s no reason why I can’t be current and make songs that are of the moment." Read our exclusive interview with Louise here.

Fresh from her recent GRAMMY win, Muni Long returns with the rather saucy Slow Grind this week. "This song may lead to unforgettable nights," she warns. "Listen accordingly."

With the announcement of their upcoming fifth studio album SABLE, fABLE, released April 11, Bon Iver deliver its lead single Everything Is Peaceful Love. Meanwhile, ahead of their Lola Young support slot this spring, Bug Eyed unveil debut EP We Talk Thunderstorms Not Showers (Part 1) alongside focus track You & I.

Ayra Starr releases brand-new track All The Love, girl group Say Now serve all the sass on break up bop DON'T TEXT DON'T CALL and Sam Fender delivers Remember My Name; a heart-wrenching ballad dedicated to his late grandparents.
