Today, Kendrick Lamar earns his first UK Number 1 single with the dizzying Not Like Us, nine months after its initial release.
Following an increase in attention after Kendrick’s performance of the diss track at his Super Bowl LIX halftime show, Not Like Us re-entered the Official Singles Chart Top 10 at Number 2 last week, and today ascends to the top spot.
Gaining 6.4 million streams over the last 7 days, Not Like Us also earns the title of the most-streamed song in the country this week.
Kendrick also sees two collabs with SZA, luther (4) and All The Stars (5) rebound back into the Top 5 this week, with luther reaching a brand-new peak, and All The Stars a re-peak. Further down, Kendrick is also present as a featured artist on SZA’s own 30 for 30 (33), which rises six week-on-week.
Meanwhile, Chappell Roan continues to enchant with Pink Pony Club; the effervescent synth-pop anthem jumps to a brand-new peak of Number 3 today.
Gaining momentum after the release of Short N’ Sweet’s deluxe edition, Sabrina Carpenter’s former Number 1 single Please Please Please re-enters the Top 10 for the first time in four months thanks to a remix featuring Dolly Parton (9), while brand-new track Busy Woman is this week’s highest new entry (10), earning Sab her fifth UK Top 10 single. Bed Chem also rises this week, up seven (18) to land back inside the Top 20.
Three tracks from Drake & PARTYNEXTDOOR’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U impact the Official Singles Chart; two solo Drake tracks NOKIA (19) and GIMME A HUG (21), and PARTYNEXTDOOR collab CN TOWER (22).
AJ Tracey and Jorja Smith’s buzzy new track Crush debuts at Number 23. It becomes AJ Tracey’s 17th UK Top 40 hit and Jorja Smith’s seventh.
Finally, two songs from Sam Fender’s brand-new album People Watching are on the rebound; title track People Watching lifts five to Number 26, and Arm’s Length is up two week-on-week to Number 35.
