Imagine Dragons enter battle with Glastonbury 2024 headliner Dua Lipa in their bid to secure the UK’s Number 1 album this week.

LOOM, the sixth record from the American pop-rock band, is currently tracking to debut at the Official Albums Chart summit, with what could become the second Number 1 LP for Imagine Dragons, following 2015’s Smoke & Mirrors.

They’ve also previously scored four more Top 10 records; 2013’s Night Visions (2), 2017’s Evolve (3), 2018’s Origins (9) and 2021’s Mercury – Act 1 (7).

However, fewer than 300 chart units away at Number 2 midweek, pop queen Dua Lipa is experiencing a dramatic uplift following her Friday headline set on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage. Former Number 1 LP Radical Optimism is pacing to ricochet 25 places to Number 2, while Dua’s previous two LPs, 2020’s Future Nostalgia (9) and 2017 debut Dua Lipa (13) could both re-enter the Top 40.

Camila Cabello’s glitchy rebrand record C,XOXO is set to become the Fifth Harmony alum’s third UK Top 10 album (7). Camila previously saw success with 2018 solo debut Camila (2), 2019’s Romance (14) and 2022 release Familia (9).

The late, great Johnny Cash’s posthumous collection Songwriter, a collection of previously unreleased, self-penned 1993 recordings, is looking to debut at Number 11. Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s former chart-topper COWBOY CARTER is on track to re-enter the Top 40 this week, currently up 85 places to Number 14 following its release on vinyl.

Another act about to experience a big chart boost thanks to her Glastonbury appearance is Shania Twain, whose Sunday Legends slot brought the biggest crowd of the weekend. Her Greatest Hits, which received a vinyl reissue last week, is pacing to reach Number 18 in what would be its first time in the Top 40 since 2005.

Elsewhere, Madness could re-enter the Top 40 with their 2023 Number 1 album Theatre of the Absurd presents C’est La Vie thanks to a new deluxe reissue (26) and, finally, Mexican rockers The Warning are on track to earn their first-ever Official Albums Chart placement with their fourth record Keep Me Fed (37).
