Florence + The Machine outselling rest of the Official Albums Chart Top 5
How Big How Blue How Beautiful leads a slew of new entries heading for the Top 40, including Collabro, Jamie xx and Simply Red.
Florence + The Machine is leading the charge for this week’s Number 1 album in a race that sees a slew of new entries competing for a place in this week’s Official Albums Chart Top 10.
Florence’s third album How Big How Blue How Beautiful leads the pack by a considerable margin; currently outselling the rest of the Top 5. If she holds on to her lead, it’ll mark her third consecutive chart-topping studio album, after Lungs (2009) and Ceremonials (2011).
Meanwhile, former Britain’s Got Talent champions Collabro are new at 2 with their second album Act Two, and Jamie xx’s debut solo LP In Colour debuts at 3.
Simply Red’s Big Love is on track to become his 13th Top 10 record this week, new at Number 4, and punk band Slaves start at Number 5 with their debut Are You Satisfied?
New entries
British rock band The Darkness land at 6 with their fourth studio album Last Of Our Kind, and Jason Derulo is at Number 12 with Everything Is 4. The album includes the single Want To Want Me, which currently holds the top spot on the Official Singles Chart.
Major Lazer’s second album Peace Is The Mission is at 20, US singer-songwriter Melody Gardot is heading for her third UK Top 40 album with Currency Of Man, new at 22, and indie-folk singer SOAK enters at 25 with her debut album Before We Forgot How To Dream.
Finally, Rifles’ No Love Lost (29) and Paradise Lost’s The Plague Within (37) are on course to enter the Top 40 this Sunday.
