It could be a photo finish for the top spot on this week's Official Singles Chart.

Could the power of Calvin Harris and Sam Smith oust George Ezra from Number 1? The pair's new collaboration Promises is taking on Shotgun for the top spot on this week's Official Singles Chart.

As of today's Official Chart Update, Promises is behind Shotgun by just 196 combined sales, up two places from last week to Number 2. If they manage to go all the way to the top, it'll add to both of their already impressive tally of Number 1s - Calvin currently has nine and Sam has six

Elsewhere, Chicago rapper Juice Wrld is on course to enter the Top 10 with breakthrough hit Lucid Dreams, up one place to 10, and Jess Glynne's latest track All I Am continues to scale the Top 40, so far up four places to 12.

South Korean boy band sensation BTS are looking very likely to score their first UK Top 40 single with Idol, currently at Number 13, boosted in part its record breaking YouTube views plus a new remix featuring Nicki Minaj.

Further down, Lithuanian DJ Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostino zoom 21 places to 15 with In My Mind, Marshmello & Bastille lift nine spots to 22 with Happier, and viral sensation Baby Shark could be landing in the Top 40, up 36 places to 29.

After six weeks of climbing the Top 100, singer-songwriter Freya Ridings could break the Top 40 this Friday with Lost Without You, currently up five places to 38. The track first entered the Official Chart in July following its play on ITV's Love Island.

'Promises' is just plain bland for me. Sorry, fans.

Definitely one of the more interesting weeks in a while!
There are a lot of surprises too: I imagined 'Promises' to be way in front of 'Shotgun', also I never expected 'Idol' nor 'Baby Shark' to be doing as well as they are, but I like both of them, so that's very good news. :)
