5 random chart facts of the week you may not know
Our quest to help you on your journey to becoming a pop mastermind continues with our roundup of highlights from this week's Official Singles Chart.
1
It's a quick swap at the top this week as Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi and the Biebs return to Number 1 with Despacito, after a week in the cold courtesy of the charity single from Artists For Grenfell. It's the second time this year a former chart-topper has snuck back to the top – Ed Sheeran's hitherto unknown, underground buzz single Shape Of You was the last, grabbing a 14th week at the top in April.
2
Making the most advances on this week's Top 40 are Imagine Dragons, who leap 10 places to Number 26 with Thunder. Funnily enough, they're also the biggest climber in the wider Top 100 too, but with a different song. Believer rockets 35 spaces to Number 46 this week.

30 years ago this week, iconic electronic duo Pet Shop Boys scored their second Number 1 with It's A Sin, knocking off novelty record Star Trekkin' by The Firm – you had to be there to appreciate this, but trust us, it was a relief. But which song has been more popular in the past week? We have the technology and the stats are upon us:
- 43 people downloaded It's A Sin last week, while it's notched up just over 7,500 plays in those all-important seven days.
- Star Trekkin' hasn't quite made it to the same dimension, but it's not light years behind. 38 of you (show yourselves!) downloaded it last week, with 3,611 of you streaming it. Wow.

Highest new entry this week comes from Drake, scoring his ninth Top 40 entry of 2016 so far, with Signs – Drizzy's been busy! But when it comes to "signs", how many have made it to the chart before Drake? We delved:
- 16 other songs featuring the word "sign" have made the Top 40
- The only sign-based Number 1 came this year! it was, of course, Harry Styles' Sign of the Times
- Three "sign songs" have made it to Number 2, though, and they are all brilliant: Terence Trent D'Arby's Sign Your Name (1988); Ace of Base's The Sign (1994) and Justin Timberlake and Snoop Dogg's Signs (2005).

Each week we like to randomly peek through the archive to see how an old song is doing, and with TLC releasing their first album in 15 years, we thought we'd drop in on one of their classics. No Scrubs from 1999! It's sold 677,000 copies but how many of those were clocked up in the last seven days? 237! And its streams are pretty healthy tbh – 367,000 plays.
