WHITE STRIPES

Who are The White Stripes?

The White Stripes - Jack White (vocals, guitar) and Meg White (drums), formed in Detroit in 1997 emerged as a raw, electric force in the world of alternative rock. Their gritty, blues-inspired sound and stripped-down setup revolutionized early 2000s rock music, sparking a global revival in garage rock and DIY aesthetics.

With chart-topping albums like Elephant, White Blood Cells, and Get Behind Me Satan, The White Stripes became known for their high-energy performances, analog recording techniques, and visual branding rooted in a bold red, white, and black color scheme.

Their breakthrough anthem “Seven Nation Army” remains one of the most recognizable rock songs in history—its riff echoing through stadiums, playlists, and pop culture over two decades later.

Icky Thump by The White Stripes became the bands first Number 1 album on the Official Albums Chart in June 2007.
