Who Am I is the debut studio by Trinidadian-born, London-based rapper Berwyn, released on July 12 2024 via Columbia. 

It was Berwyn's first project in nearly two years, since the release of Tape2/Fomalhaut in 2022. Berwyn's first mixtape, Demotape/Vega, was released in 2020 and shortlisted for the 2021 Mercury Prize. ]

Honing in on Berwyn's own life story, Who Am I is a deepy personal narrative that tackles Berwyn's journey to the here and now; including immigrating to London when he was just nine years old, and the struggles he's faced from both deeply-entrenched racism and the barricades put in his way when denied the proper immigration papers to solidify his status in this country.

"Faith and hope is my [message],”  Berwyn says. “I’ve seen enough tears on the pavement to know what it is that I’m doing and the effect it has on people in real-time.”

On July 28 2024, Who Am I was named as one of the 12 shortlisted works for the Mercury Prize 2024, marking Berwyn's second Mercury nomination in little under four years.
