X Factor auditionee Lucy Spraggan, who made headlines this week after having her previously self-released music pulled from digital retailers “in preparation for some things coming up”, has today bagged herself a Top 20 single regardless!

The Sheffield singer/songwriter who made the judging panel giggle on last Saturday night’s show with her witty lyrics to Last Night (Beer Fear), a track about the downside to drinking, will no doubt be raising a toast to the British public for their support as it debuts at Number 11 on the Official Singles Chart.

Earlier this week, OfficialCharts.com reported that, based on Sunday and Monday sales figures, Last Night (Beer Fear) was the second most purchased song of the week, and even despite the track being now unavailable to purchase, the early surge means that the track has still jumped 59 places week on week, just narrowly missing out on the Top 10 at Number 11.

Spraggan’s previously self-released album Top Room At The Zoo also catapults 105 places to Number 22 on the Official Albums Chart.
