The Force has very much been with the British public this year as the latest instalment of Star Wars leads the way as the biggest selling DVD/Blu-ray of 2016 so far.
As we head towards the end of the year, OfficialCharts.com can reveal the 40 biggest selling DVD/Blu-rays of 2016 so far, and as the year's fastest-selling movie of the year to date, it should come as co surprise to find Star Wars: The Force Awakens out in front.

The seventh Jedi epic in the sci-fi franchise has shifted 1.89 million units, some 370,000 more than the 1.51m of the year’s second best-selling movie to date, James Bond adventure Spectre, which was the best seller of Q1.
American comedy superhero movie Deadpool is up in third, selling 777,000, with Tom Hardy’s Legend at 4 (677,000) and Dame Maggie Smith’s The Lady in the Van at 5 (599,000).
Also in the Top 10 is former Official Video Chart topper The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 at 6 (574,000), while Captain America: Civil War finishes eighth just four weeks after its release, and The Jungle Book completes the Top 10 at 10.

Further down, Batman V Superman – Dawn Of Justice just misses out on a Top 10 placing, and the fifth series of the hit US fantasy drama series Game of Thrones places 16th
Finally Hotel Transylvania makes two entries in the year-to-date chart. Hotel Transylvania 2, released February, places 12th, and the original released in 2013 – boosted by the release of the sequel – is at 34.
