The Top 100 biggest songs of 2014 on the Official Chart
With the inclusion of streaming into the singles chart from July, the Official Singles Chart of 2014 was the first ever to incorporate streaming data from services including Spotify, Deezer, Napster and O2 Tracks.
And the Official Biggest Song of 2014? Pharrell Williams claims the honour with Happy.
The track was released in June 2013 as part of the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack, and later as lead single from his second solo album G I R L, racked up a combined sales and streaming total of 1.62 million across 2014.
When OfficialCharts.com compiled the rundown of most downloaded songs of all time, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Official Download Chart, Happy finished on top overtaking Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines, which… also featured Pharrell!
Pharrell told OfficialCharts.com at the time: "I would just like to say thank you, first and foremost, to the people, because the charts are determined by them. I have a lot to be thankful for because they’ve chosen these things and it’s resulted in Happy being what it’s become.”

Clean Bandit took second place with Rather Be. The classical-dance crossover track, which was also Jess Glynne's breakthrough track, finished 2014 with a combined chart tally of 1.29 million. The song also tied with Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass – which places eighth on the year-end list – for longest-running Number 1 of the year, each spending four weeks at the top.
John Legend claimed the third biggest song of 2014 with All Of Me. The US soul singer’s ode to his wife Chrissy Teigen peaked at Number 2 on the chart back in April and spent an impressive 44 weeks in the Top 40 over 2014, finishing with a combined total of 1.2 million across all formats.
Taking fourth place on the Official Singles Chart of 2014 was Mr Probz with Waves. Remixed by Robin Schulz for its release, the track claimed the biggest-selling debut single of the year, with 1.01 million combined chart sales.
Rounding off the Top 5 on the Official Singles Chart of 2014 was Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud. The song, taken from his million-selling album X, claimed the longest ever climb to Number 1 after 19 weeks in the Top 40 and finished the year with a chart tally of 1.01 million.

For VAMPs, it should have "The Vamps" as VAMPS is a band from Japan with lead vocalist HYDE and actually have talent (see this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCcHbdYeEWQ).
