Star Wars: The Last Jedi is sweeping up on this week's Official Video Chart Update, outselling the rest of the Top 100 combined.

The sci-fi blockbuster starring Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley and the late Carrie Fisher, has shifted 375,000 DVDs and Blu-rays after just three days on sale. This figure means it already eclipses Paddington 2's 317,000 that it generated in its first week to become the fastest-selling home entertainment release of 2018 so far.

Since the Official Video Chart was launched in 1994, every main series Star Wars movie has reached Number 1. The last, Star Wars: The Force Awakens opened with sales of 1.25 million, the highest first week tally for any of the franchise.

Spin-offs have also performed well; 2017's fastest-selling DVD was Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which rises 55 places in today's Update to Number 18. The Force Awakens also returns to the Top 40 at Number 29.

New entries and high climbers

The Disaster Artist starring James and Dave Franco is the next highest new entry at Number 9, while a price-slashed Fast & Furious 8 jumps 38 positions to Number 19. American western movie Hickok starring Luke Hemsworth lassos onto the Number 22 spot, three placings ahead of Jake Gyllenhaal's Stronger at 25.

Finally, Transformers: The Last Knight is set for a climb of 70 slots to Number 30, and Unchained starring Antonio Banderas starts out at 31.
