Sam Smith reclaims albums top spot with In The Lonely Hour
The album, which first topped the charts back in June, climbs four places and overtakes midweek leaders Royal Blood to take pole position on the tally. The record includes Number 1 singles Money On My Mind and Stay With Me as well as his latest track I’m Not The Only One, which reaches a new peak at Number 5 this week.
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran’s X slips from 2 to 3, and Maroon 5 debut at Number 4 with their fifth studio album V. The record also marks their fifth Top 10 album and includes the single Maps, which entered the Official Singles Chart at Number 2 last week.
Rounding off this week’s Top 5 is George Ezra, who climbs three places to Number 5 this week with Wanted On Voyage.
New Entries
US sibling duo The Pierces enter at Number 7 with their fifth studio album Creation, and Cambridge rockers Lonely The Brave land at Number 14 with their debut album The Day’s War.

Ahead of his two new albums released later this month, Prince’s Purple Rain soundtrack album re-enters today at Number 19. The LP peaked at Number 2 on the chart when it was first released 30 years ago in 1984.
Finally, Leeds band Pulled Apart By Horses celebrate their first Top 40 album with their third studio record Blood, which lands at Number 38.
