Radiohead win Official Albums Chart battle against Red Hot Chili Peppers

Plus new entries from Mumford & Sons and Christine and the Queens.

Radiohead's A Moon Shaped Pool is Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart for a second non-consecutive week, following the physical release of their ninth studio album, 

Radiohead's sixth UK Number 1 album tallied combined chart sales of 44,000, 39,000 of which were physical units. 10,500 of those physical purchases were vinyl, making A Moon Shaped Pool the best selling vinyl record of the week.

A Moon Shaped Pool previously hit Number 1 in May with total chart sales of 50,000, edging out Skepta and Beyoncé to hit the top spot. Check out their complete UK singles and albums chart history here.

Red Hot Chili Peppers' The Getaway is the highest new entry, landing at Number 2 with a combined total of 40,000. The eleventh studio album from the Los Angeles rockers is their eighth UK Top 10 album. Explore the Red Hot Chili's UK chart archive.

Last week's Number 1 Rick Astley is at 3 with 50, Jake Bugg's third studio album On My One lands at 4 and Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams climbs one place to 5  following their four sold-out shows at Wembley Arena.

New entries and high climbers

Mumford & Sons' sixth EP Johannesburg with Baaba Maal is a brand new entry at 6, their fourth Top 10 on the Official Albums Chart. Thanks to her performance on last Friday's Graham Norton, French singer-songwriter Christine and the Queens is a new entry at Number 8 with her debut album Chaleur Humaine.

The Stone Roses' The Very Best Of hops from 15 to 13 this week after their residency at the Etihad Stadium last week and Laura Mvula's The Dreaming Room is a newbie at 21, her second Top 40 album.

French prog metal band Gojira hit 24 with their sixth studio album Magma and this week's final new entry comes from Niko Case, k.d. lang and Laura Veirs's self-titled collaborative project Case/Lang/Veirs, a new entry at 28. The collection marks kd's ninth Top 40 album in the UK. 

Finally, The Stone Roses' self-titled debut album vaults 17 places to 34 and Paul Simon's The Ultimate Collection returns to the Top 40, up two to 40.
