To celebrate yesterday’s (Wednesday, November 14) 60th anniversary of the Official Singles Chart, McFly were presented with seven Official Number 1 Awards live on BBC One’s The One Show to recognise each of their chart topping singles.

Since their debut single, 5 Colours In Her Hair, reached the top of the Official Singles Chart in April 2004, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd have enjoyed 19 Top 40 singles (including seven Number 1s) and have sold over 2.5 million singles in the UK. And, with new single Love Is Easy riding high in the midweek chart, they look set to score their 20th Top 40 hit this Sunday.

McFly were presented with the special brushed aluminium trophies for 5 Colours In Her Hair (2004), Obviously (2004), All About You/You’ve Got A Friend (2005), I’ll Be OK (2005), Don’t Stop Me Now/Please, Please (2006), Star Girl (2006) Baby’s Coming Back/Transylvania (2007) by hosts Alex Jones and Jake Humphrey. You can watch it again via the BBC’s iPlayer.
