Mark Ronson reclaims singles top spot and breaks own streaming record
Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk has reclaimed the top spot on this week’s Official Singles Chart.
The soul-funk track - which features Bruno Mars - claims a second non-consecutive week at Number 1 with combined chart sales of 187,000.
Uptown Funk also breaks a new streaming record this week, having been streamed 2.49 million times in the last seven days, beating his own record set last week of 2.34 million.
Meanwhile, last week’s Official Christmas Number 1 Ben Haenow slips to Number 2 with his X Factor winner’s single Something I Need, and Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud holds at 3.
Taylor Swift’s Blank Space climbs three places to Number 4, and Olly Murs and Demi Lovato’s duet Up completes the Top 5.
New entries and high climbers
This week’s only new entry at Number 6 is Alesso’s Heroes (We Could Be). The track, which features Swedish singer Tove Lo, marks the DJ and producer’s third UK Top 10 single following last year’s If I Lose Myself FT OneRepublic (Number 8) and the chart-topping Under Control with Calvin Harris and Hurts.
Elsewhere, Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s Bang Bang rebounds 23 to 11, Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off leaps from 32 to Number 15, and Magic’s Rude re-enters the Top 40 at Number 36.
