She may have had seven Number 1s, but Kylie has had even more Number 2s, and we've been through them all. If you know what we mean.

The Australian pop princess is just one behind Madonna when it comes to singles that have peaked at Number 2 (if you count Madge's feature on Britney's Me Against The Music, which we do).

When we counted down Kylie's chart-toppers last week, lots of you asked for sales of her Number 2s and we were more than happy to oblige. We’ve crunched the numbers, scoured the archives and can now present Kylie’s Number 2 hits ranked in sales order…

CHART FACT: This was the second time Kylie was kept off the top by a charity single.

SALES: 170,000

CHART FACT: The week Confide In Me went in at Number 2, just behind it was Youssou N’Dour’s 7 Seconds FT Neneh Cherry at Number 3.

CHART FACT: Kids hit Number 2 just a month after On A Night Like This, giving Kylie her first consecutive Number 2 singles since 1988.

CHART FACT: This was the first time Wet Wet Wet blocked a Kylie song from going Number 1. They’d go on to do it another TWO times!

KEPT OFF NUMBER 1 BY: Yazz & The Plastic PopulationThe Only Way is Up.
CHART FACT: Kylie was leading sales most of the week, until a huge sales increase on the Saturday sprang Yazz to the top of the charts. She had to settle for Number 2, but it was still the highest entry ever by a female artist on the UK charts at that time.
