Kelly Clarkson is on course to bag this week’s highest new entry, according to today’s Official Chart Update.

The singer’s latest track Heartbeat Song is currently at Number 2 on the tally, behind Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do, which is on track to log a fourth week at Number 1.

If Clarkson holds on to her position, it will be her biggest UK single in four years, after Mr Know It All peaked at Number 4 in 2011. Click here to check out her full week-by-week chart history.

Meanwhile, R&B singer The Weeknd continues to climb the chart with Earned It, which jumps a place to Number 3, and Hozier’s Take Me To Church is at 4.

Rounding off the Top 5 is David Guetta FT Emeli Sande’s What I Did For Love (5). The track continues its ascent up the chart, shooting a further 15 places up the rankings after it was used on last week’s 30th anniversary episode of Eastenders.

New entries and high climbers

London dance outfit Disciples are new at Number 13 with They Don’t Know, while Taylor Swift leaps 14 places to Number 22 with Style.

Former Swedish House Mafia members Axwell & Ingrosso land at 27 with Something New, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds enter the Top 40 with Ballad Of The Mighty I at 35, and John Legend & Common’s I Loved You enters at 39 following their win at last Sunday’s Oscars.
