Justin Bieber's What Do You Mean could be his first UK Number 1 single this week
Plus there are new entries from Demi Lovato, Little Mix and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
Justin Bieber could be claiming his first UK Number 1 single this week as his latest single What Do You Mean takes an early lead on the Official Singles Chart.
Following an emotional performance of the track at the MTV VMAs last Sunday (August 29), the track leads the way on this week’s tally, pushing last week’s chart-topper Fight Song by Rachel Platten down to 2.
If he holds on to his lead until Friday, it will be Bieber’s first ever UK Number 1. To date, the star has 26 Top 40s on the Official Singles Chart, including 2012’s Number 2-peaking Boyfriend. Click here to view his full Official Chart history.
Meanwhile, Demi Lovato’s Cool For The Summer enters today’s Top 40 Update at 3, Calvin Harris & Disciples’ How Deep Is Your Love is at 4, and Jess Glynne’s Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself completes the Top 5.
New entries and high climbers
5 Seconds Of Summer’s She’s Kinda Hot zooms 52 places back into the Top 10 today at Number 9 following the physical release of the track, Labrinth’s Jealous re-enters at 24 following its outing on last week’s X Factor, and Little Mix are new at 25 with Hair.
Further down the chart, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis start at Number 37 with their new single Downtown, and Birdy’s Wings could be re-entering the Top 40 again this week, currently up 27 places to 38.

Debuting at #1 is a big achievement and good for Justin Bieber if gets there. WDYM is a great tropical house track and EDM is the genre Justin should stay with in my opinion. I know people argue which is a better track of Justin's.. "Where Are Ü Now" or "What Do You Mean" but both have EDM influences and I love tropical house so I think WDYM is the better track.

Well done Little Mix on the #25 position! Quite surprising given they didn't have any promo/video/airplay for Hair. It shows the strong appeal they have at the moment. Perhaps Get Weird will rank #1 when it's released in November.
