Despite a last minute challenge from Katy Perry’s Roar, Jason Derulo holds on to his Official Singles Chart crown for a second week with Talk Dirty.

Jason Derulo today claims a second week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with Talk Dirty FT 2 Chainz.

The US R&B star ended Katy Perry’s two week run at the top last Sunday with her comeback single, Roar, to score his third UK Number 1. Despite a closely fought race between the two tracks, Talk Dirty finished the week 15,000 copies ahead of Roar (Number 2).

OneRepublic climb one place to Number 3 with Counting Stars, while Drake’s Hold On We’re Going Home FT Majid Jordan is up three to Number 4, and Avicii’s You Make Me is a non-mover at 5.

New Entries and High Climbers

Sub Focus, AKA producer Nick Douwma, scores this week’s highest new entry with Turn It Around. The track, which features Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke, enters the Official Singles Chart today at Number 14.

LA indie rock trio Haim clock up their third UK Top 40 single, and highest charting single to date with The Wire (16), while Jessie J rounds off this week’s new entries with Sexy Lady (22) taken from her new album Alive.

Demi Lovato’s Skyscraper heads up this week’s highest climbers, soaring 46 places to Number 13 (its highest chart position to date) following X Factor contestant Hannah Sheares’ rendition on last weekend’s show.

Meanwhile, US rapper 2 Chainz sees a sales boost for his single We Own It (Fast & Furious) (up 58 to Number 28), which is taken from the soundtrack to Fast & Furious 6, following the DVD and Blu-ray release of the film last week. Justin Timberlake’s Take Back The Night re-enters the Top 40 at Number 30, and Robin Thicke sees his latest single Give It 2 U climb 27 places to Number 34 after appearing at the iTunes Festival last week.

And finally, Kings Of Leon’s Supersoaker (37) is back in the Top 40 following the release of their new album, Mechanical Bull, which entered the Official Albums Chart in pole position today.
