Dolly Parton’s Top 10 most downloaded tracks of all time revealed!

Ahead of the country legend’s first ever Glastonbury performance this Sunday, we take a look Dolly Parton’s Top 10 most downloaded songs EVER!

Tennessee-born Dolly Parton, who’s currently on the European leg of her Blue Smoke World Tour, is set to take to the infamous Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on Sunday (June 29).

Despite having 12 UK Official Albums Chart Top 40s under her belt and a career spanning over 50 years, Dolly has never before played the legendary Worthy Farm festival. So, in celebration of Dolly’s Glasto debut, OfficialCharts.com takes a look at the 68-year-old’s most downloaded tracks of all time.

First up, and topping the chart, is 1976 hit Jolene. Taken from Dolly’s album of the same name, Jolene was the singer’s first ever UK hit, peaking at Number 7 on the Official Singles Chart upon its release.

At Number 2 on our countdown is Dolly’s 1983 duet with Kenny Rogers, Islands In The Stream. Penned by The Bee Gees, the track followed in Jolene’s footsteps, also reaching Number 7 on the Official Singles Chart.

Islands In The Stream enjoyed a UK chart revival 26 years after its original release, reaching Number 1 in 2009, when Tom Jones teamed up with Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones (as Gavin & Stacey’s Bryn and Nessa) for their cover of the track in aid of Comic Relief.

One of Dolly’s best known songs, 9 To 5, is her third most downloaded single of all time. The theme tune track of the 1980 movie, 9 To 5 just missed the Top 40, peaking at Number 47 in 1981 – shame on you UK!

At Number 4 is Dolly’s lesser-known version of I Will Always Love You (thanks Whitney!) Released in 1974, Dolly’s original performance of the track failed to chart in the UK. However, Whitney Houston’s 1992 cover, taken from the soundtrack to The Bodyguard, spent a mammoth 10 weeks at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart – so Dolly is definitely good for a round of ciders if you happen to bump into her in the scrumpy tent at Glastonbury!

Dolly was 'shattered' by Whitney’s tragic death in 2012, "Mine is only one of the millions of hearts broken over the death of Whitney Houston. I will always be grateful and in awe of the wonderful performance she did on my song, and I can truly say from the bottom of my heart, Whitney, I will always love you. You will be missed."

Completing the Top 5 is Here You Come Again. Peaking at Number 75 on the Official Singles Chart in 1984, the track earned Dolly her first of seven (!) Grammys.
