Camila Cabello challenging Sam Smith for her first UK Number 1 single with Havana
There are projected climbs for Stefflon Don & French Montana, Craig David and Paloma Faith on today's Official Chart Update.
Is Camila Cabello on the verge of her very first UK na-na-Number 1?
The Cuban-born singer’s latest single Havana has climbed the Official Singles Chart over the last eight weeks, rising to Number 4 on last Friday's rundown. Havana currently sits at Number 2 on today's Official Chart Update, just 1,500 behind Sam Smith's Too Good at Goodbyes, which last Friday became his longest ever chart topper.
Havana became Camila's first Top 10 hit as a soloist three weeks ago, although she enjoyed a further two during her time as a member of Fifth Harmony. The band's biggest hit Work From Home, also peaked at Number 2.

Chart highlights
Three more songs are expected to climb up this week's Top 10, including Avicii and Rita Ora's Lonely Together, a two-place riser to Number 6 in today's sales flash. J Balvin and Willy William's Mi Gente has propelled eight spots to 8 following the release of a remix of the track featuring Beyoncé, and rising star Stefflon Don's Hurtin' Me with French Montana could become her highest charting hit, jumping five to Number 9.
Craig David's Heartline is on the cusp of becoming his 18th UK Top 20 hit, rocketing 10 places to Number 18, while Paloma Faith is also climbing with Crybaby, up 15 spots to Number 21.
Leaping 12 slots on today's update to Number 22 is Ed Sheeran's Perfect - a former Top 5 hit recently promoted to single status - just ahead of Mabel's Finders Keepers featuring Kojo Funds which vaults six to Number 23.
Finally, Bodak Yellow, the current Number 1 single in America by Cardi B, makes gains on this side of the Atlantic, so far up 11 placings to Number 26.

I want Sam Smith to come off the top soon but Camila had better not hit #1, she's so terrible. I think Perfect should hit #1.

Camila should probably release the music video, that should easily send 'Havana' to #1.

I'm very pleased to see that 'Havana' could be a contender for #1 this Friday! I don't mind Sam Smith being at the top, but I like Camila's song far more.
If I'm honest though, I expected 'Rockstar' to be leading the update, given how strong its been in streaming & that it appears to be picking up sales reasonably fast now.
I'm not too happy seeing 'Hurtin' Me' nor 'Mi Gente' climb into the Top 10, but those gains for: 'Heartline', 'Perfect' & 'Finders Keepers' lower down are good.
It's going to be an interesting week for sure! :)

Rockstar is at number one in Australia so it might get there soon
Piran
Given how close behind 'Rockstar' was this week (only 693 copies) & that it's a relatively new song, I absolutely agree that it's still possible.
By the way, I might've asked you this before, but do the Australian charts count radio airplay like the US do, or is it just sales & streaming like in the UK?
Ebony
It'll be interesting where it is in Australia next week it's number 1 on streaming but only 20 on iTunes. And same love will be re-entering it's been leading the iTunes chart all week since the NRL grand final. All because our former PM wanted it censored since where in the middle of a gay marriage plebiscite and it's too political for a game of rugby.
Piran
Well it looks like 'Rockstar' remained at #1 in your country & not only that, but it also got to the top over here too.
That's interesting about the former happening though. I remember last summer, 'One Dance' was at #1 & even though it was barely in the Top 40 on sales one week, as well as little radio support & no YouTube, it's dominance on streaming was enough to keep it at the top for so long. It just shows how much streaming controls the charts these days, but as we've discussed, I see the reasons why.
Yeah, I saw that 'Same Love' was able to get a #4 re-entry in Australia. When was the last time a re-entry higher than that happened?
Also, why was 'Mr Brightside' able to re-enter as well?
Ebony
I don't know of any other very high re-entries, same love is charting so high because of political reasons. Mr Brightside re-entered because the Killers performed at the AFL grand final and during the after party a well known player from the winning team Jack Riewoldt joined in singing it which got a bit of media coverage
Piran
Well both are good songs in my opinion, so I'm happy that both are back!
To be honest, Australia probably have the best quality of music on the charts out of any country right now.
