KILLERS

The Killers are a Las Vegas-founded rock band focussed around the line up of front man Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci.

The Killers first broke through with their 2004 album Hot Fuss which featured the song Mr Brightside - a 2004 single which became such a popular and enduring hit in the digital download and streaming era, that it barely left the Official Singles Chart and went on to become the longest-running hit ever on the UK Official Chart.

In December 2019 the Official Charts Company announced the biggest songs of the decade and confirmed that Mr Brightside finished the 2010s as the 12th biggest selling single of the decade, some 16 years after its release.

In 2021 the Official Charts Company confirmed that Mr Brightside had become the first track ever to spend a whole five years on chart as it logged its 260th non-consecutive week in the UK rankings. No other song in UK chart history has notched up anywhere near as many weeks in the Official Singles Chart Top 100. Then in May 2024, 20 years after Mr Brightside made its first UK chart appearance, Official Charts announced The Killers' Mr Brightside had overtaken Oasis's classic Wonderful to become officially the UK's biggest song of all time yet to reach Number 1, and the third biggest song of all time overall when sales and streams are combined.

The band are most definitely no one-trick pony either, The Killers have enjoyed prolific success on the Official Albums Chart too, racking up a staggering eight UK Number 1 albums to date, from Hot Fuss in 2004 to their most recent Rebel Diamonds in 2023.
