COLDPLAY

Coldplay comprise band members Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion, they first formed at University College, London.

Coldplay's breakthrough came courtesy of Yellow in 2000, which landed at Number 4 on the Official Singles Chart, it was eight years later when they would achieve their first Number 1 song with Viva La Vida. However, Coldplay hold the rare distinction of every single one of their ten studio albums reaching Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart.

In a career spanning more than two decades, Chris Martin and co. have continued to evolve and discover new worlds - from their tender debut (Parachutes), to a majestic stadium-rock reinvention (Viva La Vida) and their exploration of sci-fi synth-pop (Music Of The Spheres).

In October 2024 Coldplay scored their tenth consecutive chart-topping album when Moon Music reached Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart. The record’s opening week tally of 237,000 chart units marked the band’s strongest album launch week since 2008’s Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends. By December, Moon Music was confirmed by Official Charts as one of the biggest albums of 2024 - claiming the most-downloaded album and best-selling CD album of 2024
