MOTORHEAD

Motörhead were a hard livin’ English rock band formed in June 1975 by bassist, singer, and songwriter Lemmy (born Ian Kilmister on December 24, 1945 in Stoke on Trent), who was the long-time constant member, guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Lucas Fox. Motörhead begun when Lemmy was booted out of drug-fuelled psychedelic rockers Hawkwind in 1975 for doing too many drugs, with the goal of making fast, heavy, paranoid and loud speed-fuelled rock, which saw them become the pioneers of speed metal. Motorhead’s iconic line-up featured drummer Philthy Animal (born Philip John Taylor on September 21, 1954 in Derbyshire – died in London on November 11, 2015 of liver failure) and guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke (born Edward Allan Clarke born October 5, 1950 in Twickenham – died January 10, 2018 of pneumonia) who built up a string a hit songs in the late 1970s and early 1980s such as Ace Of Spades, Bomber and Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers, and scored a UK Official Album Chart Number 1 in 1981 with the iconic and deafening live album No Sleep Til Hammersmith. Motörhead barely stopped touring and only came to an end when Lemmy died on December 28, 2015 two days after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
