wow, father figure peaked @ #11 in the uk??!! that was a big hit over here in the states...and monkey peaked @ #18?? both songs went to #1 over here...also the single 'faith' was the #1 song of the year for 1988 here in the u.s.

very interesting...incl. singles i've never heard of! here in the u.s., the faith album still holds the all time record of 6 top 10's for a uk act. no other uk group, uk solo artist has been able to match george's feat. and all 6 singles peaked within the top 5. i can't tell all of you how hard it's always been, even today, to land in the hot 100's top 10...i know it looks very easy, but the u.s. music scene is so big with so much competition. and for george's feat to still be unmatched today also shows what a huge momentum he had in the u.s. he even did better than mj and madonna during that time :)

here in the u.s. the other artists to have 6 top 10's off 1 album: katy perry (teenage dream), mj (bad) and janet jackson (janet). and then 3 artists have 7 top 10's off 1 album: mj (thriller), bruce springsteen (born in the usa) and janet jackson (rhythm nation 1814).
