BIFFY CLYRO

Biffy Clyro are a Scottish rock band that formed in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire in 1995, whose members comprise singer and songwriter Simon Neil (born August 31, 1979 in Irvine, North Ayrshire) on guitar and lead vocals, and twin brothers; singer and songwriter James Johnston on bass and vocals, and Ben Johnston on drums and vocals (born April 25, 1980).

Biffy Clyro’s beginnings saw Simon, James and Ben form a combo called Skrewfish, which also featured guitarist Boyan Chowdury, who left in 1997. Biffy Clyro made a significant chart breakthrough with their fourth album Puzzle, released in 2007, Puzzle became not only the band's first Top 40 album, it powered all the way to Number 2.

Biffy scored their first UK Number 1 album with 2013’s Opposites and further Number 1s followed with 2016's Ellipsis and A Celebration Of Endings in August 2020.

Biffy Clyro also had the unlikely situation of penning 2010’s UK Official Christmas Number 1 single, when X Factor winner Matt Cardle released When We Collide (Biffy Clyro's Many Of Horror renamed) and it landed the coveted festive top spot. It delivered Biffy's first ever Number 1 single as writers, and they too clinched a third Top 10 on the Official Singles Chart when the British public bought the original the same week.
