PETER GABRIEL

Peter Gabriel became a household name as the lead singer of Genesis before embarking on a successful solo career.

Solsbury Hill was the song that gave Peter Gabriel his debut solo hit on the Official Singles Chart in April 1977, before breaking the Top 5 for the first time with follow-up single Games Without Frontiers (Number 4).

Six years later in 1986 he went on to score another Top 5 single with perhaps his best-known solo track Sledgehammer, landing at Number 4, as well as a Top 10 collaboration with Kate Bush the same year, Don't Give Up.

With two Number 1 albums already under his belt, in 2023 Gabriel returned with tenth studio album I/O, the singer's first album of new material in over 21 years. I/O helped Gabriel clinch a third UK Number 1 album and his highest-charting since 1992 release Us

Peter Gabriel is also a respected humanitarian and founded WOMAD Festival.
