I FEEL FINE
by BEATLES

I Feel Fine was the eighth single by The Beatles, and their sixth UK Official Singles Chart Number 1 in the space of just over 18 months, and their third top-spotter of 1964. Written primarily by John Lennon during the sessions for Eight Days A Week, I Feel Fine featured one of the first uses of feedback in popular music.

I Feel Fine was loosely based on Watch Your Step, a 1961 song by Bobby Parker, and Ringo’s drumming was inspired by Ray Charles’ What’d I Say. First released November 23, 1964, I Feel Fine entered the chart at Number 6 climbing to Number 1 a week later for a five-week stint, making The Beatles the first act to score two consecutive UK Official Singles Chart Christmas Number 1s following 1963’s I Want To Hold Your Hand, and sold over 1.43 million copies to become the sixth biggest-seller of the decade.
