2 BECOME 1
by SPICE GIRLS
2 Become 1 became the third consecutive UK Official Singles Chart Number 1 for Ginger (Geri Halliwell), Baby (Emma Bunton), Scary (Mel Brown), Sporty (Melanie Chisholm) and Posh (Victoria Beckham) following the success of Wannabe and Say You’ll Be There.
Co-written by the Spice Girls with producers Matt Rowe and Richard Stannard during December 1995, 2 Become 1 was released December 16 1996 and entered straight into the chart at Number 1, just in time to be crowned 1996’s UK Official Singles Chart Christmas Number 1 and spending three weeks on top. 2 Become 1 became the fifth biggest-selling single of 1996 despite having only three weeks on the chart at that point.
